Project: FS- EDMS, Financial Services for the Electronic Documents
Management Systems division
Description: DocIT is an application that is developed as a customized
WebTop product. It is part of the Financial Services domain
undertaken in Swiss-Re. Based on the business context i.e.
companies, deals and trades the documents are managed
accordingly in various folder structures. All the important
Insurance domain documents are hence managed in an
efficient way through DocIT. DocStore Migration: The
documents present in the Docstore application had to be
migrated to two different applications called UWC (Under
Writing Cockpit) and IUF/POR (Integrated Underwriting
Facility Portfolio). This was based on the business context
of the source documents. Initially a rendition script was
to be prepared as the migration was later on to be carried
on the rendition of the source documents rather than the
source document itself.
CDM Migration: It dealt with migration from an existing
application called Complex Deals Management to a Documentum
application called DocIT. The documents have to be migrated
to the Documentum repository according to the XML format
definition defined for them
Responsibilities:
. Requirement gathering through a direct interaction with the client.
. Development of CR documents
. Customization of DocIt and Credit Solutions applications
. Unit Testing in development environment
. Deployment to development/ training environments
. Production support in case of bug fixes
. Carried out two migrations as part of the application development:
o Complex Deals Management Migration: This project deals with the
document migration from an existing application called Complex
Deals Management to a Documentum application called DocIT. The
documents have to be migrated to the Documentum repository
according to the XML format definition defined for them.
o DocStore Migration: The documents present in the Docstore
application had to be migrated to two different applications
called UWC (Under Writing Cockpit) and IUF/POR (Integrated
Underwriting Facility Portfolio). This was based on the business
context of the source documents. Initially a rendition script
was to be prepared as the migration was later on to be carried
on the rendition of the source documents rather than the source
document itself.
o Finco Migration: Migration of DocStore documents to FINCO. The
metadata required for migration is specified in excel sheets,
based on this the migrati9on was done accordingly.
