1. Responsible for the production of 38 million meters per month of acrylic packaging tape in a 24/7 working environment with the world leader manufacturing company of acrylic tape.
2. Implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques on the manufacturing floor (5S, JIT, Work Cells, Kanban, Kaizen and other Six Sigma practices).
3. In charge for safety, ISO-14001 and key contact to deal with local and federal organizations such as AQM and OSHA.
Key Projects
1. Was assigned to manage the ISO-14001 program. Tasks were: a) to fix non conformance of previous ISO audits, b) to set a plan to avoid non conformance for new audits, c) to obtain certification for the new year with good results.
2. Developed and implemented new methods to collect information to monitor production indicators for Yield, Utilization and Productivity (OEE). This reduced waste by 4% across different work centers, improved utilization by 6% and productivity by 12%.
3. Cross trained operators on the coaters and slitters to minimized overtime across the production floor to reduce overtime by $136,000 per year and to provide more flexibility in schedule changes.
4. Managed the safety program in the company and introduced the theory of 5S, monthly safety meeting, and safety audits with prevention actions that reduced the number of accidents by 30% from the year 2006 to 2007.
5. As a team leader helped in the successful implementation of Axapta Dynamics (Microsoft) ERP software in 8 months.
6. Led the team that for three years in the Kaizen projects (Six Sigma) obtained first, third and fourth place among our 8 sisters company with savings of $450,000 dollars in three years.
