Smiths Aerospace - GE Actuation Systems, Whippany, NJ 2004 - 2009
Test Engineer
. Designed PC based and PLC test consoles to test linear and rotary
actuation systems.
. Design and fabricate PC boards.
. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Production Test and
Qualification Test.
. Transitioned established build-to-print programs by Northrop Grumman
Unmanned Systems for production testing. Set up test consoles and
worked with the customer engineers to allow for a smooth transition in
producing the product and keeping scheduled delivery dates.
. Developed electronics assemblies Bed of Nails tester to screen for
product defects and eliminate rework on new hardware.
. Reverse engineered a legacy/obsolete program required to overhaul USAF
aircraft valve control actuator.
Smiths Aerospace, Florham Park, NJ 1981 - 2004
Test Engineer (1996 - 2004)
. Designed test interfaces to provide access to all signals during
system integration. Worked with vendor to ensure that the interfaces
were built to allow for ease in troubleshooting problems.
. Designed Automated Test consoles used to test Power Management System
at both ATP and ESS levels of test. Reduced test time on a system
from one day to one hour. Supplied training to off-site locations.
Electronics Technician (1981 - 1996)
. Lead Technician supporting test technicians in troubleshooting Weapon
Stores Management, Communication and Navigation Systems. Developed
test programs to do diagnostics on individual circuit cards to provide
component level troubleshooting with the use of In-circuit Emulation.
. Engineering Lab Technician supporting testing in the development of
new designs.
