R&D Section Manager - Hewlett-Packard, Corvallis Oregon - 3/05 to present

Led 70 person engineering team responsible for quality systems, analytical

labs, modeling, simulation, business analysis support of R&D in Corvallis,

San Diego

Managed day-to-day strategy/goal setting and execution to support R&D

community around the world. Key deliverables include owning all facets of

quality/customer experience on new product introduction in two overseas

locations, development and execution of ISO9001 certification of quality

system, solving many materials/chemistry/failure analysis development

issues via the analytical lab and owning the improvement of the R&D

development system through the implementation of modeling and simulation.

Operations Section Manager - Hewlett- Packard, Corvallis Oregon - 10/97 to

3/05 .

Led 250 person combined operations and engineering team responsible for

supporting research and development for both inkjet and other emerging

businesses.

Accountable for management/leadership/direction for the division's

analytical lab, failure analysis labs, and tech lab services. Team was

responsible for solving/helping to solve numerous product/technology

development and introduction issues. Integral part of R&D

product/technology development process. Drove significant improvements to

turn-around-time and on-time delivery and grew lab to one of top five US

captive commercial analytical labs through the addition of ~ $30M of

capital tools and the hiring of 50 engineers/scientists and technicians.

10/97.

Led 39 person combined operations and engineering team responsible for

supporting integrated circuits business division.

Drove Quality System improvements for division. Managed analytical labs,

documentation, Quality Education, Statistical services, Quality consulting,

and Quality System audits (ISO9001).

Engineering Manager - Hewlett-Packard, Corvallis Oregon - 10/93 to 10/95.

Led - 10 person analytical lab. Responsible for all facets of

identifying customer needs/requirements and developing plans and strategies

to satisfy those customers needs. Major accomplishment was managing a major

improvement in job cycle time without increasing the labs cost structure

and while significantly improving the lab employees morale.

Advanced Manufacturing Operations Manager, IBM, Essex Junction, VT - 5/88

to 7/93.

Led ~ 15 person team. Responsible for improving semiconductor manufacturing

methods and techniques for 1100 person direct work force including:

implementing SPC, development of a LAN based SPC application, contamination

control responsibilities; computer integrated manufacturing, manpower

planning for the facility, and ISO9000 registration.
