Project Details:

An umbrella program to develop a technology infrastructure and applications

for the next generation CRS of the Starwood enterprise, consisting of

multiple projects collectively designed to replace and modernize the

current CRS Application. Valhalla provides multiple channel interfaces to

customers and external client systems, such as Branded Web sites, call

center, EDG, PMSs, Guest Service Portal, and Sales & Meetings, etc. The

backend CRS applications are partitioned into multiple autonomous

application engines according to the line of business functionality, each

providing a discrete set of services.

The channels and the engines interoperate with each other only through

Project Details:

ABN AMRO Bank (AAB) is preparing for the introduction of Basel II, a

mandatory international initiative to enhance capital adequacy in the

banking industry. An essential component for Basel II Credit Risk is the

Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) calculator. AAB have chosen the Fermat product

to fulfill this calculator requirement, adopting a de-centralized

implementation approach for each Strategic Business Unit (SBU). One of the

main activities of this project's implementation is to design and build a

Data Pre-Processing Layer which is responsible for processing PC/NGM data

that is sourced from WCS led countries. This data is extracted as part of

the existing extracts of data from WCS source systems, and is included in

the data files that are received by the WCS Basel 2 Platform, processed by

SAFEGATE, and pass through DTL prior to being loaded to the WCS instance of

Fermat. Where Data Integration has identified PC-NGM specific defaults and

validation rules for PC-NGM data, these are performed by DTL on the basis

of the SBU code on each source record. This data is loaded to the WCS

instance of Fermat, RWA calculation performed and the calculation results

extracted to the WBRR along with WCS data.

Issues and Opinions database (ARIO) is a bespoke system created by the IT

department to meet the reporting needs of Internal Audit. ARIO is Web

Browser based and is installed on the Abbey network. The system allows

Internal Audit to record audit findings, link them to issues, track

opinions on risk management and produce schedules and statistics for
