Director of Forecasting and Planning
Recruited to return to Wilkinson Industries to lead the Information
Technologies departments, and establish a formal Supply Chain process
including Forecasting, Master Scheduling, and Inventory Control departments
and leverage my experience with Technology systems in a production
environment.
. Established a formal Supply Chain process and directed the daily
operations to achieve:
o Reduced inventory over 25% and increased forecast accuracy to
over 90% by developing and implementing improved forecasting,
establishing inventory turn metrics, and improving production
scheduling practices.
o Improved customer fill rates to an excess of 97% by establishing
contacts with key customers and vendors, improving SKU
forecasting, improved master scheduling, and implementing LEAN
production practices.
o Improved inventory accuracy to over 99%, and also improved item-
costing accuracy through improvements within the bill of
materials.
o Improved inventory accuracy to over 99% and eliminated the
requirements for annual physical inventories through the design
and implementation of a wireless inventory control system
throughout the company to track the movement and receipt of all
inventories. The last corporate physical inventory was in 1996.
o Implemented and led a Sales and Operations Planning process that
met on a weekly basis to review key metrics and improve the
cross department communications.
o Created and directed a SKU Forecasting department that improved
the SKU forecasting accuracy and improved the production
scheduling by reducing last minute changes due to forecasting
errors.
o Established and directed a Master Scheduling department to
provide operations a forward looking schedule that provided a
more consistent building pattern and reduced seasonal peaks and
valleys.
o Developed metrics and reporting methods to constantly monitor
production capacities and seasonal demands to smooth
requirements where necessary.
o Achieved the Circle of Excellence award from Wilkinson's ERP
software vendor for outstanding integration and business
improvements throughout the company.
o Developed tracking metrics to monitor production performance
that improved the production schedule adherence and allowed for
a reduction of raw and finished goods inventories for a
production operation producing in excess of 6 million containers
each day.
o Developed a vendor-managed inventory system for key suppliers
that enabled them to use the production scheduling data at
Wilkinson to set their requirements thus reducing inventory on
key materials to fewer than 4 days on hand by scheduling daily
deliveries from the vendors utilizing an internet based system
that updated automatically from the corporate ERP system.
o Designed and let the implementation of an internet-based
reporting system that allowed for quick custom reporting to
track key operational metrics throughout the company resulting
in the elimination of printed daily reports and allowing access
from areas outside the company.
o Designed an internet-based reporting system for customers to
access their account information including order entry, shipment
information, sales history, item pricing, and accounts payable
information and provide the portal to exchange business
requirements improving customer forecasting and improved
customer fill rates.
o Responsible for all aspects of Inventory Management including
SKU turns, SLOB inventory, and seasonal requirements.

including all training consisting of 3 unique systems at 3 locations with
