Operations Manager

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for implementing

procedures, providing leadership and guidance with the goal of

developing and sustaining a safe and effective manufacturing process.

This position is directly accountable for production and maintenance

operations utilizing 1 Facilities Engineer, 2 Group Leaders, 4 Control

Room Operators along with 30 indirect hourly reports including,

Material Handling and Maintenance personnel.

Responsible for sustaining plant operating systems through the use of

tools such as standardized work practices and supporting metrics that

have achieved operational efficiency improvements of more than 40% in

period of 6 months.

Implemented continuous improvement methodology such as 5S and TPM that

improved the overall efficiency of the preventative maintenance

program and maintenance window events by more than 25%.

Reduced spare parts inventories by over 50% while reducing lead time

on critical spares by more than 30% on average.

Achieved an average of better than 85% for weekly schedule attainment

in 2009.

Production Manager:

Responsibilities: Production leadership position responsible for a

three shift compression molding operation producing exterior body

panels for the OEM automotive market. Direct reports were 3 Shift

Superintendents, 3 Mold Engineers and 10 Production Supervisors. This

position was directly responsible for manufacturing quality, safety

and schedule attainment along with developing continuous improvement

teams and implementing Lean methodology such as Value Stream Mapping,

TPM, Kanban, Visual Factory and 5S.

Reduced overall direct labor variance to standard by 30 % through

improved work cell labor efficiency, continuous improvement and task

combinations.

Increased output efficiency by 20 % overall through improved work cell

flow.

Reduced scrap dollars by 30 % over a nine month period through

employee involvement and cross functional teams.

Championed plant wide 5S implementation along with developing the

strategy to deploy and maintain the process through employee

awareness, training, accountability, monthly audits and team meetings.

Conducted a Value Mapping event that focused on a single product line

the result of which yielded a monthly 75K + savings of inventory

dollars along with implementing a Kanban system to maintain inventory

control.

manufacturing of cathode ray picture tubes. Each department was

operated as a business unit and this position was directly responsible

maintenance, technical issues and continuous improvement activities.

Directly responsible for the daily output of the shift and

approximately 140 hourly employees. In additional, to control of

material flow into and within the department.

Directly responsible to ensure all policies, safety regulations, EPA

regulations and housekeeping is enforced on shift.

Initiate, facilitate and support any activities related to improvement

actions, TPM, and autonomous maintenance.

Direct and support Technical Leader in activities related to the

identification and execution of training of the production workforce.

Establish and communicate departmental goals.

Organize, support and participate in work cell teams.

Products Division

Supervisor / Superintendent /Production Manager: I began my career as

a Production Supervisor and was promoted twice over a 15 year period

along with assignments at three different locations in the

corporation.

Directly responsible for the daily functions of a three shift

manufacturing operation with an hourly workforce of approximately 130

employees.

Review of production schedules to evaluate manning and overtime

requirements

Review of all labor reports to determine the root cause of scrap,

rework, downtime, indirect labor, etc. and the implementation of

corrective actions.

Implementation and coordination of Production Accountability meetings

with production personnel and the management staff.

Work in conjunction with the Materials Manager to reduce inventory

variance of raw material.
