. VMware infrastructure project. VMware virtualization engineer for

Analog Devices at San Jose business unit including 7 offices globally.

Achieve 8:1 consolidation ratio and reduce data center operating

costs. Redesign networking and storage framework to support VMware

infrastructure. Implement VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, update manager VUM

to improve flexibility, manageability, stability, and high

availability. Built PXE based kickstart automated installation for

. Storage projects. Install and configure NetApp filers as NAS / IP SAN

(including remote offices) with a total of 10TB of data for product

line storage requirements and VMware infrastructure. Implement and

manage data synchronization / backup between offices using various

netapp technologies such as snapmirror and snapvault with out of sync

monitoring. Perform storage capacity trending analysis. Design

directory structure hierarchy and auto-archiving process. Optimize

storage utilization using deduplication and other packet level

compression technology. Evaluate storage vendors if needed to meet

ever changing storage requirements.

. Service consolidation and P2V conversion. Design VM templates (Windows

and RHEL), network, and storage architecture to control and maintain

optimal used in hardware resources and optimal VM performance without

over allocation. Refresh infrastructure services from Solaris 2.6 and

Solaris 8 based into RHEL linux based VMware platform. Also coordinate

with NT admins to perform and document P2V migration on windows based

services.

. System administration. Design and deploy standardize computing

environment (RHEL / Solaris) including servers, compute farms, and

workstations across seven remote offices worldwide within business

unit. Built PXE based and grub based automated kickstart install

infrastructure. Install 200+ RHEL compute nodes and workstations

remotely using PXE kickstart across various offices globally. Tune

system settings to optimize application performance in IO, virtual

memory, and network performance.
