With approximately $16 billion in assets, Guaranty Bank was one of the
largest Texas-based financial institutions with more than 165 banking
centers in Texas and California, serving over 300,000 families. Guaranty
Bank was purchased by BBVA Compass Bank in August, 2009 and all accounts
converted to BBVA Compass in February 2010.
Operations Analyst
. Completely re-designed the methodology and GL structure for the
month-end close process allocating check card and ATM income and
expense to 165 banking centers.
. Prepared the annual operating budget ($4MM) for the ATM Operations
and Check Card Services departments and presented monthly variance
reports to upper management.
. Improved internal and external reporting by introducing key ratios
to benchmark sales and profitability.
. Served as an essential team member on the Visa DPS Conversion
project, (major processor conversion from eFunds to Visa DPS),
participating in weekly meetings, monitoring transactions,

and served as point of escalation during conversion.
. Played leading role in EFT Source conversion project - the
conversion of check card production from Metavante to EFT Source,
and was the key contact person for the mass reissue of 180,000 check
cards reissued over nine weeks; coordinating with systems,
marketing, vendors and the call center.
. Selected for a process improvement project to reduce excess cash in
banking centers by $8 million and projected potential annual savings
in excess of $320,000.
GUADALUPE COUNTY - ADULT DETENTION CENTER, SEGUIN, TX 2006-2008
The Guadalupe County Detention Center houses more than 600 county, state
and federal inmates. The commissary department provides hygiene and food
items for purchase by the inmates.
Commissary Officer
. Reduced operating expense significantly by negotiating quantity-
discount pricing, introducing competition with new suppliers and
consolidating shipping services resulting in profitability increase
of more than 20%.
. Completely overhauled the commissary department by implementing a
perpetual inventory system and establishing weekly reports to analyze
expenses, sales and profitability.
