PROJECTS June-December, 2008
Worked in a team of two students who designed a mechanical
(hand-operated) device to clean the surface of a dental mirror
and restore its reflective qualities
Designed (using Solidworks) and fabricated (using CNC
machines) a testing apparatus to determine the necessary force
required to clean mirror surface of debris
Tested a device based on ASTM standard E303 - 93 to determine
frictional properties
Used rapid prototyping machine to create a prototype
Interactive Qualifying Project, Desert Research Foundation of
Namibia, March-May 2008
Worked in an interdisciplinary team of 4 students
Compiled report providing a detailed overview of the state of
water and sanitation in the Fish River Basin of Namibia
Developed recommendations as to how a basin-wide sustainable
management strategy could be accomplished
DRFN received $100,000 grant from Finnish government to
implement recommendations
Received 2nd Place, WPI President's IQP Award
EXPERIENCE DSM THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMERS, INC, Leominster, MA
Project Consultant, July-August 2009
Tested and modified design of Mercedes Benz door seals using
ALGOR FEA software
and compiled report of findings from stress analysis
Intern, Research and Development, June-August 2008
Created test specifications for measuring talc agglomeration
in Sarlink Material
Trained group of five quality control personnel in above
testing methods
Used injection molding and extrusion machines to create
prototypes of door seals for Mercedes Benz and Honda vehicles,
as well as gas cap for Ford Mustang
Volunteer, Intern, Research and Development, June - August
