Working Project Manager/Superintendent with oversight of LACSD Whittier
Narrows UV Disinfection Facilities. Responsible for all phases of
construction including start-up, submittals, O & M's, purchasing, concrete
work (forming, layout, rebar, finishing), mechanical (take-offs for NBG's,
layout of all piping, underground, by-pass lines, SS lines, fiber glass
lines, slide-gates, welding and testing), layout and installation of UV
equipment and coordination of 18 subcontractors including electrical,
painting, and demo. Saved 2 months of schedule by loading all switchgear,
VFD's and misc. electrical equipment in Electrical Building prior to
setting 62,000 lb. building on 20' high pad. Update monthly schedules (CPM-
P3), monthly billing and weekly work schedules. Provide all back up and
negotiated all District approved change orders equaling over $300,000.
Contract value $8.4 million. No time lost accidents. Contract finished 4
months early and under cost.
Project Manager-Superintendent
CORA Constructors, Inc., 2002/2008
Superintendent/Project Manager with oversight of 3 public works
projects ranging from $1,5 to $5.9 million. Projects are new Acid
Plant for Three Valleys Water District, 2 new wells for Monte Vista
Water District (to include new style wells based on ASR system), and
new Raw Water Plant for the City of Calexico. Projects include
excavations of 28', CML&C pipe (sizes of 8" to 36"), 180 lf of boring,
welding, demolition of existing facilities, block buildings and walls,
chemical feed systems, double wall containment piping, grading for
roads and parking lots and concrete structures both above and below
ground including false work and pile shoring. Supervision over all
employees and subcontractors to include electricians/drywall/block
masons/painters/landscapers/roofers. Past projects include $1.7
million R & R of Sewer Pump Station for Orange County Sanitation
District, $2.3 million Sewer Lift Station at Bombay Beach, Salton Sea,
$850,000 Sewer Lift Station for San Bernardino County, $2.9 million
Chiller Replacement for LA County Sanitation District, $1.2 million R
& R of Brawley Sewer Plant, $1.1 million new Sewer Plant for the city
of Seeley and $1.6 million new water Plant for the city of Ripley.
Accomplishments include projects on schedule and under cost by 5 to
34% of estimator's proposals. No time lost accidents.
Project Manager-General Engineering
TB Penick & Son's, 2001/2002 (one year contract)
Project Manager with responsibility of setting up school and under
ground division for old established concrete company. All projects
started out with take-offs and bid preparation to include bond and
insurance requirements, completion of bid package to include minority
outreach programs. Next step was to provide all submittals, CPM
scheduling, purchasing, contracts with subcontractors, labor and
equipment. Monitor projects and provide change order traffic and any
contract negotiations required between subcontractors and or client.
Approve all field invoices for equipment and material expenditures
while reviewing daily progress for monthly billing of clients.
Projects included 5 miles of 20" C900 water line and appurtenances for
Eastern Municipal Water District and 5miles of 12" and 18" VCP to
include manholes for Coachella Valley Water District. Accomplishments
include start up of new underground division, bidding and monitoring
infrastructure, 2 completed projects at 5.8 % profit. No time lost
accidents.
General Manager / Project Manager
Alaska Contracting Group, 1992/2000
General Manager over the Alaskan Construction Group. Responsibilities
included projects in Alaska, Washington, Hawaii and California with
budgets from $43,000 to over $60 million. Projects ranged from federal
contracts in all 4 areas, DOT at the Alaska Airport to public works in
Washington and California. Major projects included 3 of the largest
environmental projects in the US; rehab of the Navy's largest
underground fuel depot at Red Hill Hawaii, demolition of the USCOE
White Alice and DEW Line sites in Alaska and the USCOE Thermal-
Debsorbtion (dirt burning) of 110,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil
at Fort Lewis Washington. Duties include P & L responsibility,
forecasting of
