As VP & CIO my responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing,
staffing and managing Information Systems at Princeton HealthCare and its
affiliated hospitals and ambulatory care clinics. I serve as the senior
executive on the administrative team to define strategy, objectives and
priorities for Information Technology initiatives. I have executive
responsibility for the overall administration of computing and related
technologies by aligning information services with projected business plans
for Princeton HealthCare Systems. I also have responsibility for HIM, MSO and
defining technology leadership for the new 170 acre facility campus, including
the creation of a for-profit entity to implement and maintain physician based
systems within the health system to leverage costs and gain market advantages.
Responsibility for acquisition of any ARRA funding by aligning technology with
government requirements to maximize funding.
Establish trust and function as a key member of the senior management team and
as an advisor to the Board, physicians, and management on Information
Technology matters.
Work with and educate senior management team on technology based business

consensus regarding the application of information technology strategy to

Responsible for directing this new healthcare business segment in consulting
for Cerner, IDX, Siemens, McKesson and Epic. Duties include assessing
healthcare initiatives to determine strategies and provide resources to
accomplish organization goals. In addition, CIO duties to provide leadership,
direction, operational standards and strategy for short-term engagements.

Chief Information Officer for national healthcare information technology
outsourcing, software development and consulting firm. Responsibility
encompasses 39 hospitals with networks of ambulatory care health centers,
managed care services and medical office centers. Responsible for total
corporate operation and the organization's ability to perform.
Active participation in shaping and fulfilling the mission, philosophies,

Direct responsibility for developing and executing sales initiatives, tactical
and strategic business plans, including managing a variety of client

Project design and oversight for various vendors that include Cerner,

Promoted to AOM/Regional CIO quickly after saving Vanguard Health System a
for-profit organization over 2.5 million in less than 4 months at one
facility. Vanguard requested that I lead all their future acquisitions.
Vice President & Chief Information Officer
1998 - 1999 Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, MD
Responsible for all information systems for a 380M integrated healthcare
delivery system consisting of a 500 bed general/acute care hospital, long-term
care facilities, combined with physician practice networks, reference
laboratory and several remote ambulatory care centers in the greater
Washington area.
Lead the process to identify information systems needs, to define strategic
and tactical projects, develop budgets, staffing plans and a realistic
schedule for project initiative and completion. Presented to physician
organizations and board members for strategic acceptance.
Optimized available resources for projects by:
o Establishing a positive rapport with existing vendors and utilizing them
in a way to enhance their product for long and short term needs
o Establishing and organizing in-house development processes to assure
resulting products not only meet the needs of the company but can be released
to the facilities in an accurate and timely manner
Developing new relationships with service providers where necessary.
Initiated and lead high priority projects some of which had been "in the
queue" but not addressed for over two years. Completed other lingering
projects as necessary. A sampling of initiated projects include:
o Implementation of decentralized/regional business processes and selection
of a document imaging system, interface engine and a fixed asset system to
address the needs of the acute, long term care, home care, physician network
service venues operating in a post-acute network model;
o Definition, design and development of short term enhancements to existing
clinical and financial systems to immediately improve operations and extend
the life of the product while seeking new systems; and
o Design and development of a series of enhancements to the existing
clinical products to provide facilities with a set of clinical management
tools rather than a tool focused only on regulatory compliance.

A client while I was employed at Cerner. Mercy Hospital is a 512 bed general
hospital. The initiative was to enhance the technology within the organization
after years of neglect. As Director my responsibilities included:
Lead the executive team in effectively managing information resources to
support strategic business planning and management of the health service
organization.
Provided managerial oversight and coordinated functions in data
administration, information processing, and telecommunications throughout the
organization.
Implemented policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards for information

Patient Management and Medipac Billing systems on a IBM ES9000 platform,

the Dun & Bradstreet Financial systems.
Executive Project Manager
1992 - 1998 Cerner Corporation, Kansas City, MO
Senior project manager responsible for the project management and
implementation of Cerner's HNA Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, ProNet (Order
Entry), Patient Management, Medical Records and Nursing systems for clients in
the Southeast region of the United States.
Designed and managed the Project Plan, scheduling resources and coordinated
all activities of the project through implementation.
Responsibility included all executive level communication, management and
project progress.
My peers considered my abilities exceptional, due to my hardware and product
knowledge abilities. I was called upon to troubleshoot project deficiencies
and also realign project tasks to meet expected outcomes.
Largest project responsibilities included the management of 150 personnel and
a budget of 75M.

suite of Cerner products.
