Deployed services including: VOIP, Video Conferencing over IP, IPSec.
Conducted technical risk evaluations of hardware, software, and installed
systems and networks as well as presenting alternatives for enhancement of
firewalls, modernization of firewalls, and inbound e-mail security and
robustness. Overviewed network activity to prevent attacks from malicious
and compromising viruses and Trojans. Successfully recovered data
successfully from a number of damaged hard drives.
Geographical Data Services Engineer - Internship Aug 2006 - May 2008
Operated with Geographical Information System (GIS) Software such as Framme
Web View and Map Info. Performed data entry, data processing and quality
control. Assisted in designing methods for geocoding two million electrical
customers in Ireland thereby increasing productivity. Successfully geocoded
two million electrical customers and assigned each customer to the correct
electrical network. Identified and repaired a software bug which regularly
caused major loss of data. Provided support to colleagues throughout the
Country in transferring data from databases to local systems.
Education
Masters Degree: Security And Forensic Computing
Dublin City University Aug '08 - Aug 09
Modules Cryptography and Number Theory, System Software, Secure
Programming, Forensic Computing, Biometrics, Network Security,
Public-Key Cryptography and Secure Protocols
Thesis Title: Real-Time Face Detection and Recognition
This paper investigates the process of face recognition in conjunction with
a practical implementation of such a system. The system, developed in
Matlab, detected faces through a feature-based method; skin detection,
while the recognition stage was carried out using the Eigenface method.
The system developed, yielded a successful detection and recognition rate
of 83% based on 420 individual results in comparison to a recognition only
system, with only 68.3% success.
