Lead projects involving end-to-end sourcing transactions, sourcing
strategy development, RFX creation, structuring service agreements and
metrics, due diligence and supplier selection, negotiating contracts,
transition of services, supplier governance and overall supplier
management. Examples include:
. Lead a multi-national, global team, to consolidate and outsource 300 in-
scope "data centers" in 69 countries for this worldwide electronics
company based in the Netherlands. Conducted joint design workshops
with suppliers, created service descriptions, metrics, and service
level agreements for 10,000+ midrange servers. Lead technical and
service level aspects of negotiations for this multi-year, E100 million
contract which included transfer of 200 employees.
. Led a project to obtain application support and maintenance services
for ERP applications from an offshore service provider. This involved
leading the team which developed the sourcing strategy, created the RFP
and managed the proposal process, conducted due diligence efforts, led
the evaluation and selection process, assisted with contract
negotiation and managed the transition of services.
. Developed a Vendor Management Organization for a midsized energy
company. Conducted a series of workshops for senior executives to
establish justification and principles for the new VMO. Developed job
descriptions, processes / procedures and working relationships with
other internal organizations. Served as the client's interim VMO
Director for 9 months, managing two large outsourcing agreements, while
new staff were recruited and trained.
. Served as a key member on a 3.2 billion IT outsourcing remediation
project for an agency of the British government. Led the hosting
commercial team in developing service level descriptions and metrics
for all hosting services, including application operations, as well as,
more than 8,000 mid range servers and 10,000 main frame MIPS.
Negotiated improvements in contract terms, metrics and service
descriptions, leading to enhanced service and substantially reduced
cost.

SENIOR MANAGER, INFRASTRUCTURE 2002 - 2004
Provided leadership and vision for a staff of 32 supporting North
American IT infrastructure. Directed all infrastructure operations,
technical support, help desk and desktop support. Oversaw all outsourcing
relationships, worldwide, managed IT suppliers and contracts. Results
include:
. Reduced annual ongoing operations expense by $5 million (18%) through
elimination of waste, renegotiation of supplier contracts, and
restructuring of outsourcing relationships.
. Implemented key service measurements to guide ongoing internal process
improvements.
. Dramatically reduced annual cost of an outsourcing relationship (more
than 60%) as a result of conducting a web-based auction, leading due
diligence, negotiating final contract.
. Led negotiating team for a $25 million Human Resource Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO) agreement. Developed negotiating strategy, trained
negotiation team, conducted negotiations and established final contract
and implementation plan for service/support.
. Reduced total cost of personal computer purchases more than 20% by
negotiating a worldwide contract with the unit price indexed to an
external, quarterly benchmark.

Managed a staff of 20 with responsibility for designing and implementing
IT infrastructure technology for systems, operations, and networks.
Results include:
. Transformed staff project planning and management by instilling a greater
sense of urgency and accountability for delivering all IT projects on
time and on budget.
. Restructured existing mainframe service agreement to include more
favorable Ts &
Cs, supplier accountability, SLAs, penalties for non-performance. Cost
