Professional Experience
Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering
. Designed, planned and implemented multiple production line
improvements and redesigns resulting in labor savings as high as 50%,
a 50% reduction in floor space utilization, as well as improvements in
quality, scrap and rework.
. Instituted Single Piece Flow, Signature Build, Automated Workstation
Testing and Work side Part Storage at multiple locations resulting in
up to 50% reduction in material handling labor as well as reduction in
rework, scrap and inventory as well as improved overall Quality
including warrantee saving from a doubling in average product life.
. Established green field manufacturing plant designs for facilities as
large as 1,000,000 sq. ft. including process design, equipment
selection, procurement and runoff, labor content, warehousing and
worked with architects, contractors, utilities, and local government
officials.
. Worked in such areas as machining, casting, hot forging, plastic and
paper coating and printing, assembly as well as other areas. Projects
were in such areas as medical surgical equipment, IT, defense
equipment, casting, plating, pumps and valves, doors and windows,
water heating, batteries, computers, automotive lighting, stamping,
drivetrain and custom wheels, heavy truck stamping and interiors,
recreational vehicle production, appliance production as well as
others.
Project Management
. Developed over 10 major project plans costing as much as $8 million
dollars including produced project time lines, located, qualified and
supervised vendors, as well as implementation with little to no impact
on customer's delivery and over $25 million dollar savings and new
business.
. Coordinated projects including supervising all work by employees
throughout facilities and equipment and services by suppliers on
projects lasting over a year.
Lean / Six Sigma
. Developed and implemented Lean Six Sigma program for automotive
supplier including training 20 Lean / Six Sigma Green Belts and 8 Lean
/ Six Sigma Black Belts, Training a Lean / Six Sigma Coordinator,
establishing policies and procedures and mentoring all trainees
through their first few projects including gate reviews and upper
management reporting. This program saved the company over $500,000 in
the first months and projected savings over $2 million in 18 months.
. Established a Lean program for 100% of a Defense Department supplier's
600 employee IT division. This included training, establishing
policies and procedures, project generation, mentoring project
participants, establishing Visual Displays and Gemba Walks.
. Preformed multiple Lean / Six Sigma Green belt and Black Belt projects
ranging from projects as small as a $20,000 and as large as over
$3,000,000.
