Construction Superintendent
Summary
I have spent the last 3 yrs building new homes for Mcbride and Son Homes
which is one of the largest privately held homebuilders in the country. My
duties ranged from Pre construction meetings with the homebuyer(s)
explaining the building process from start to finish and all customer
service policies. I also over saw all the subcontractors that were involved
in every phase of new home construction daily including making weekly
schedule for all subcontractors and adjusting as necessary if target dates
were not hit. I took care of all problem solving on site in at least 4
separate subdivisions with sometimes as many as 35 individual homes under
construction at once. I was also responsible for closing the homes with the
buyers and all decision making involving the 1 yr builders warranty after
the closing. I also had as many as 5 laborers working for me at any given
time and made daily schedules for them as well. I was responsible for all
material problems on site and dealing directly with suppliers to solve
these problems.
I worked as a union carpenter for 12 yrs before I became a new homes
superintendent. I started as an apprentice and worked my way through the
apprenticeship program to become a journeyman and eventually moved up to
general foreman on hotels and retirement homes. By the end of my career as
a union carpenter I was working as a general foreman/asst. superintendent.
