Director of Operations assigned to restatement team and Acting Controller
for Japan during 2 yr Restatement Exercise
I was one of five IR people assigned full time to work with our auditors
and an outside accounting firm to
Restate the Companies accounts and tax filings for FY2005 to FY2008.
. Reconstructed 4 years P&L and Balance sheets for the Japan Office from
cash records
. Part of the team that restated 4 years corporate accounts, 10K's &
10Q's and tax returns.
. Was acting Controller for the Japan office for 2 years using agency
staff.

Acting Plant / Divisional Controller - relating to
Acquisitions/Divestiture (2 years)
Assumed acting controller role at sites acquired by IR to aid integration
prior to recruiting a full time local controller.
When IR sold approx 30 % of business to Vishay acted as liaison during
transition period..
. Trained approx 80 people over a 4 week period in NA, Europe and Asia
on how to close financial books Using IR's software, systems and
processes.
. Converted new acquisitions over to IR systems, set up shared service
centers, recruited and trained personnel..
. Recalculated and prepared for loading on Day1 of 4000+ new standards
costs for Vishay and conversions of data into their SAP system.
Project Leader for ERP implementation into the Mexico Facility (1 year)
Responsibility for the implementation of all the finance modules, training
of personnel, data conversion and signoff by the internal SOX group and the
External auditors. I also assumed the role of the Plant Controller for 3
months to ensure we provided a turn -key solution.
. Reduced the Operational Financial close timetable from 3 days to 4
hours.
. Implemented a new Global Chart of Accounts.
. Reduced Operational Finance Department headcount from 5 to 3.
Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (3 years)
Responsible for the production of the consolidated Month end and Quarter
end internal reporting. Providing support documentation for data referenced
in the 10K and 10Q filings. Manage the Annual and long term Business
Planning Process and review timetables. Coordinated and audited the
standards costs update. Authorize the write off of Inventory as part of
the Excess and Obsolete Inventory process and calculated the reserve
requirements quarterly.
. Was head of a multi functional team that Reduced Inventory from 20
week to 13 weeks.
. Designed and Implemented an Executive Information System that provided
data relating to Billings, Bookings Backlog and Inventory by Geography
and Segment updated at midnight US time to aid dialogue between
executives and sales and manufacturing VP's .
. Created various databases to help analyze the business more effective
and efficiently.
International Controller (2 yrs)
Corporate Controller responsible for all Finance Departments outside of
the USA. Specifically Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, China, India, Italy,
Germany, France, UK and Scandinavia. Ensure compliance with all local & US
GAAP, company policies and controls. Liaison between Finance and local
executives. Ensure consistent training across all sites. Review of all
financial data and regular Balance Sheet reviews
. During 2 year period two local controllers left the Company and I
assumed their roles until a replacement was found.
. All sites met the Company timetable for submitting financials and no
major audit issues were reported.
Sales Controller (4 yrs)
Finance Director assigned to the VP of Sales and Marketing, who was also
joint CEO, and the Global Sales organization to promote financial
awareness, manage the budgeting and forecasting process, and supervise the
commission and incentive process.
. Helped reduce the number of Direct Customers from 12000 to 500 by
transitioning through Distributors.
. Transitioned the incentive plan from Revenue based to Profit based.
. Introduced report cards for Global account managers.
GB Plant & European Controller - Site produced both Commercial and G&S
products (8 years)
Finance Controller initially responsible for all Finance activities in the
GB sites, Germany, France, Scandinavia and India but later extended to
include Italy and the Eastern Bloc countries .The Functions covered were
Cost accounting, Financial Accounting, AR & AP, Treasury, Audit, Pensions
and Local Government and Banking relations.
. During these 8 years GB grew from a site with a workforce of 168
people to over 640 people.
. Secured sufficient funding locally to fund the growth of the site and
Company.
. Member of steering committee for ERP system selection and
implementation.
. Created a system to enable us monitor the profitability of the product
line we had global responsibility for
. Cost accounting expert assigned to assess feasibility of taking over
East German Facilities when the Berlin Wall came down.
