Ganesh has more than 30 years experience in engineering and construction of
petrochemical plants, refineries, power plants, air pollution control
equipment (precipitators, and wet Scrubbers), ductwork, API pumps and
compressors, boilers, steam turbines, compressors, turbo-expanders, and gas
turbine power plants with SCR controls. I am very familiar with API, ASME
and ANSI (B31.1 and B31.3) codes and Shell Specifications.. I am
currently with Pinnacle as a Project Manager at Hovensa Refinery in St
Croix, Virgin Islands. I am very familiar with refinery operations and
capital projects ( FEL through Startup) and I am willing to relocate on a
Single Status basis. I have a strong safety record in the refinery
environment and I am TWIC approved.
My experience and assignments are listed below.
. Project Manager ( Pinnacle ) Hovensa St Croix Refinery for Gas Turbine
refurbishment and NOX reduction programs Current ongoing work is
refurbishment / retrofit of FIVE GE Fr 5 Gas turbines with
replacement of " cigar ", New Inlet air filters and replacing existing
MkIV controls with new MK VIe controls. Scope includes GTfuel gas
compression systems and CO catalysts for existing HRSGs. GT components
delivery ( from Pignone Italy) is in 2011. Also under consideration are
alternate GT packages(Multiple units totaling 135MW nominal)
Black & Veatch Kansas City are Owners Engineers and I am primarily at BV
KC with visits to St Croix for site survey and coordination.
. Flare System Upgrade, South Bay Refinery, Carson, CA. Project Manager for
a $26MM Flare Gas Recovery System and addition of Flare headers, Seal
drums and KO drums. Responsibilities includes FEL studies from concept
to define phase, assist client in optimization of project scope, IPA
cost estimate review and proceed to detailed design, procurement and
site construction coordination support. Isometrics were produced from a
3D PDS model (with laser scanning). Foundations, Structural Steel and
Electrical Cable trays and major equipment were also designed into the
model.
. SCR Catalyst Upgrade and Gas Processing Plant Turnaround Major West Coast
off shore Gas processing facility. Responsibilities included TAR
planning, safety reviews, Contractor selection and work process planning,
Supplier and Equipment vendor coordination, cost management.
. Project for retrofit installation Coker Deheading systems for a Major
South Bay Refinery, Carson, California. Project Manager for a $28MM
automatic Delta Valve Bottom Automatic Deheading system for 4 cokers.
Responsibilities includes FEL studies from concept to define phase,
project scope reduction studies, cost estimate reviews, peer reviews
and management gate approvals leading to procurement and detailed
design. Isometrics, and structural steel were modeled (3D PDS model with
laser scanning) resulting minimal field interference with existing
installations.
. Just completed Phase 2 10 % TIC) design of a 25000 BPD / $600MM
Hydrocracker for a Local Independent Refinery in Southern California. As
Project Manager responsibilities included all OSBL interface and
evaluation of existing facilities and utilities, including new 66KV/
35MVA switchyard / substation. Additional OSBL scope items included
Amine regeneration, Sour water stripper, Caustic scrubber system, 85TPD
Sulfur plant and TGU, Truck Scales, Rail car Loading systems, FGR and a
new 200,000#/Hr enclosed flare.
. Rule 1105.1 FCC Project #1, South Bay Refinery, Wilmington, and CA.
Project Engineer for Evaluation and selection of ESPs, SCRs and Wet Gas
Scrubbers for FCC service.
Assisted PM in all coordination functions and provided leadership in
technical areas including process selection, value engineering,
equipment selection and cost estimates. (TIC was $60MM).
. FCC 3rd and 4th Stage Separator Project, ConocoPhillips, Wilmington
Refinery, CA. Project Engineer. Directly involved in the large diameter
hot (SS) and cold ducts (CS with refractory) and associated equipment,
48' diameter high temperature duct valve and associated specialty
items.Refractory lined 3rd stage separator weighed 250 tons. Additional
responsibilities included vendor coordination, preparation of cost
reports and scheduling. Project TIC was $15MM.
. Turboexpander Compressors; Various Major EPC Contractors and Oil Industry
Corporations; USA, Europe, Middle East, and Far East. Project Manager.
Coordinated engineering, and manufacture and testing of turboexpander
compressors for gas processing and petrochemical industries.
Responsibilities included contract administration, customer liaison,
pricing and proposal preparation. Familiar with API 614/617/ANSI B31.3,
ASME Sec. 8, and technical design/drafting. Also familiar with equipment
and instrument spec sheets, P&ID development, plus process aspects and
applications of turbo machinery (steam, gas, and lube oil systems). Also
supervised specifications and purchase of gearboxes (200 HP to 20,000 HP)
and electric generators.

. Combined Cycle Power Plants, Multiple Clients, Multiple Locations.
Principal Engineer responsible for site construction support and customer
liaison for cost issues and schedules. Project Engineer on combined cycle
power plants, with GE Fr5 (23 MW), FR 6 (45 MW) and GE Frame 7 (150 MW)
gas turbines and associated boilers, feedwater systems, vacuum systems,
and steam turbines. Involved with P&ID development, control loops, plant
layout, HRSGs with ammonia injection and SCR controls, tanks, fire water
systems, condensers, and piping systems and specifications.

. Wood and Gas Burning Power Plants, Multiple Clients, Multiple Locations.
Project Engineer for wood and gas burning power plants (10-25 MW). Design
of boiler and steam turbine systems, steam turbine design, high pressure
oil, gas and steam systems, plant and skid layout, and skid packages.
Work included budget preparation and purchase order and cost control
review for technical man hours and purchased equipment.

Locations. Project Mechanical Engineer on power plants associated with
paper mills facilities. Work included boiler systems, feed water
exchangers, steam turbines, slurry pumps, boiler feed pumps, vacuum
systems, propane systems, vaporizers, lube oil systems and fire
protection sprinkler systems. Work included plant layout, P&ID
preparation, and packaged equipment specification preparation.
