Module Skills and Responsibilities

Financial Aid Module (6.x and 7.x and 8.x)

Duties involved setting up validation tables, performing data load process,

writing technical rules in simple and complex mode for tracking, budgeting,

packaging, and SAP groups, batch posting process, writing population

selection rules, generating letters using letter generation process and

data conversion process. Associated responsibilities include conducting

weekly project meetings with the functional users to discuss the project

status, issues related to conversion, troubleshooting of software and

hardware related problems, educating and assisting end-users on their

functional responsibilities, and analyzing the needs of end-users relating

to personal productivity. Additional duties include set up for new award

year, roll back award history, and performing upgrades to the system.

Primary duties involved converting data from IA Plus system to the Banner

Bursar's One Way Interface (RZPDISB) Project Details:-

University is implementing Banner Student Information System and Financial

Aid Systems, Financial Aid System will be stand alone in Banner till

January 2010 since the Student Accounts is going live in January 2010.

The refunds are processed in the legacy mainframe system on nightly basis.

Bursar's One Way Interface is designed to send the disbursement data from

Banner Financial Aid to mainframe system on nightly basis. The mainframe

system creates the 80 transactions and runs the fee gen process to process

refunds.

The name of the Banner Job is RZPDISB. The job is designed to read the

disbursement data from the Student Accounts table (TBRACCD) on daily basis

and creates a file on the server for the mainframe system to process the

refunds. The Banner job sends only the new transactions either positive or

negative amounts from Financial Aid.

The file layout is designed as per the mainframe system requirements (Fixed

Length File). The file consists of Student Award Information i.e. Student

ID, Student Name, Paid Amount and SSN. The SSN number is sent only for the

Health Science Center students only.

The interface is designed to process refunds in mainframe system. The

interface reports all State Grants, Federal Grants, Scholarships and

Institutional funds and Tuition Waivers from Banner System.

The job is schedule to run through Appworx on daily basis and email

notification is sent once the file is ready for the mainframe processing.

New Student Scholarships Interface(RZPSCHL) Project Details:-

RZPSCHL:- Banner process to load New Student and Retention Scholarships

from SAM System to Banner Financial Aid System.

The Banner process reads the fixed length file from SAM System and loads

the Scholarship data in RPRAWRD, RPRATRM and RPRADSB tables. The following

API's are used to design the process

State Grant Scholarships Interface(RZPOLAP)

Design Banner job to load eligibility for the state Scholarships in Banner

System. The Office of Financial Aid gets files from state and process the

files and updates user defined file on ROAUSDF to determine the eligibility

for the scholarships. The Banner process ready the file from state and

updates the user defined fields. The file from state system is a tab

delimited file.
