SENIOR SAP / BO ANALYST / SHAREPOINT DEVELOPER - ADMINISTRATOR 1992-2009
Business Objects query designer and developer. Served on team responsible
for integrating Business Objects with SAP. Unique working knowledge of SAP
and BO both as an end user and as a developer. Responsible for roles
ranging from ETL Developer to Master Data SME. System owner and developer
of the Corporate Budget and Forecasting application in SAP FI/CO. System
owner and developer of Customer Master Data and Sales Tax in SAP.
Extensive knowledge of all SAP cubes and structures. SharePoint Developer
and Administrator for Supply Chain Organization.
. SharePoint Developer - System developer of SharePoint sites for Sales,
Marketing, Customer Service, Credit and Finance departments. Researched
best practice techniques and acted as a liaison between departments to
gap the bridge of communication between them. Published daily, monthly,
quarterly, and yearly reports to SharePoint sites each morning. This
process was automated using Microsoft VB. Integrated other Microsoft
office products with Sharepoint utilizing its ability to deploy programs
on the intranet. Developed procedures and initiated training classes
for assigned owners as necessary. Maintained security roles for all
users under Supply Chain organization. Later managed a team of
representatives who monitored use and provided assistance to content
owners.
. SharePoint Administrator - Maintained groups and roles for users and
owners of sharepoint content managed sites. Developed custom groups for
individuals requiring special permissions as well as custom securities
on document libraries where applicable for business requirements.
Granted access to new users upon request and determined the best
possible roles for each individual.
. Web Development / Graphic Design - Designed and developed Intranet and
Internet sites for the Chemicals Division of Oxy. Responsible for
graphic design and upload of all information necessary for web site
production including B2B implementation. Utilized, Dreamweaver, CSS,
Front Page, Image Ready and Illustrator for most of the Web and Graphic
design. Developed Customer Service logo for Internet page and designed
a logo that was used for OSHA Star on site presentation as well as many
other graphics used throughout my time at Oxy.
. BO Analyst and Developer / Reports Automation-Liaison between the
customer, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and Executive VP to decide
where reports were generated from. Reduced time spent on reporting by
75% by automating daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports for over
2000 different reports. Accomplished by using macros, VBA and other
scripting/coding tools to merge data from multiple sources such as BO
Netweaver, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, SQL, Oracle, and SAP. Developed
and Implemented functional design which allowed the end user to run with
minimal effort. Wrote code that sent reports to end user automatically
via e-mail or posted to Internet Portal. Created Adhoc reports for
Canadian audits legal requests. Held strong relationships with US and
Canadian government departments as well as Homeland Security in order to
streamline communications to Oxy personnel when required.
. BI Architecture, Design and Reporting - Develop, test, and implement
functional design for BI after SAP/CRM and ERP upgrade. Improved
reporting capabilities by over 90% for Supply Chain, Finance, and Credit
groups by combining "like" reports. Reduced penalties paid to Canadian
government for GST tax by 92% by negotiating a wait period before paying
GST tax.
. SAP Customer Database - Initiated standards for all records entered into
SAP resulting in data integrity of the system. This reduced time spent
on reporting that was used trying to match data. Developed a hierarchy
system in SAP that allowed for certain affiliated to be tied together
for marketing trends. Cleaned, standardized, and maintained over
100,000 customer master records including pricing, name changes and
mergers for multiple sales orgs, company codes, and divisions.
Developed a functional design that would allow for history to be viewed
in SAP.
. SAP Security Administration - Complied with SOX regulations and
initiated reports that would be run monthly for SOX audits. Security
Roles for specific functions were created when necessary in SAP, BO and
Sharepoint.
. Forecast and Budget - FICO SAP BPC - Coordinated timeline and project
workflow with finance and marketing to manage forecast and budgets
monthly for all business aspects. Managed Forecast for Chlorine and
Chlorine Derivatives and handled both the Marketing and the Finance
budgeting and forecasting processes for all products every quarter.
. Health, Environment, and Safety - Led the Safety Committee in efforts
driven toward making Oxy Tower become the first administrative site to
achieve the OSHA Star award. Established teams, discussion groups, and
coordinated external resources for training and materials for two years.
. SAP Basis integration - Led Data Conversion team with migration of
Legacy data from existing mainframe system to SAP. Determined standard
codes and naming conventions for accuracy in data and held training
classes for the entire workforce. Suggested functional design changes
and made requests using TMS.
. Training - Coordinated all training, training materials and implemented
PeopleSoft training sessions for the entire Supply Chain Organization as
well as Credit, Marketing, Sales and Finance. Established on line
tracking methods in compliance with SOX. Held monthly training sessions
for new employees covering SAP processes, Business Objects, Excel,
Access, Customer Master Data, Sales Tax, and Customer Satisfaction.
. Program Development - Identified and developed programs to automate
processes where applicable for all departments. Worked closely with
each group to understand their needs. Enhancements were made to
original procedures when possible. Average time spent was reduced by
more than 70 percent.
. Metrics - Detailed documentation kept and Metrics were posted to a
repository developed in Oracle and available on line; later converted to
Sharepoint Portal.
SR INVENTORY AND PRODUCTION PLANNING SPECIALIST AND TEAM LEAD 1988 -1992
. Responsible for production rate planning/distribution as well as
stocking all terminals with Liquid Caustic Potash(KOH) Dry Potash,
Methylene Chloride, and Sodium Bichromate for the largest producer of
KOH in the world. Communicated daily with plant personnel to
prioritize shipments and coordinate production rates for import and
export shipments. More than 8000 Tons of product moved daily to
terminals and warehouses.
. Received an award from corporate customer for innovative ideas which
allowed their plant to avoid a seemingly certain shut down situation.
All efforts were made after hours and on the weekend which made the
task more challenging.
. Coordinated shipment priorities with marketing, sales, customer
service and credit departments.
