Resume of PETER DOLINA
SUMMARY:
I am recently working for Sur La Table which is a chain of high-end kitchen-ware stores. My role
was to set up an efficient database environment to collect data from several independent systems:
POS, HR, Marketing. The challenge has been timely data transfer, data cleansing and data
quality evaluation. Using SSIS and SSRS, SSAS with some dashboard software additions we
were able to create a “cap” covering important data distributed into both OLTP and OLAP
formats. I am leading a team of 4 developers, I have already groomed my successor and I would
like to start in a new place to help them build their data functions as I have done here: I need new
challenge.
I worked as Senior Data Architect with Limelight Development in Seattle. In that position I was
responsible for translating business requirements into functional data related specifications, for
creating architectural design supporting both OLAP and OLTP processes, for defining and setting
up taxonomy rules to drive text analysis and to ensure compatibility of structured and un-
structured data in different data marts.
As a Senior Database Architect at Microsoft I spent time in architectural design and technical
implementation including ETL design and implementation of OLTP and OLAP solutions
supporting NAP (Network Area Protection) and MSN Sales. I was responsible for data
management, data quality evaluation and data cleansing using MS IS as well as information
presentation using MS RS. In my previous assignments at Microsoft and elsewhere I also acted
as team lead almost exclusively in the areas utilizing SQL Server (various versions) with RS, IS,
and AS. I tutored team members on MDX and delivered several complete data warehouse design
proposals both static (DW design) and dynamic (ETL, data quality control). I have also worked
as a Senior Development Manager for Russell Investments where I led the effort to improve the
overall compliance process and reduce cost of it by measuring and improving processes and
implementing a new IT solution using Six Sigma methodology. I have a doctorate in computer
science from the second oldest university in Europe: Charles University in Prague.
