Coordinating common solution between Korea, China and North America for the
Body Enterprise team, Clearly communicating engineering issues and lessons
learned to all levels of the program team and in all regions of production,
Being the onsite connection between the plant floor and engineering for
Detroit Hamtramck and Fairfax Assembly plants while communicating and
ensuring engineering support of GMDat (Korea) and Shanghai GM (China)
production concerns simultaneously.
5/05 - 5/09 (48mos) Closures Designing Engineer (DE) 09 Chevy Traverse
Front End Sheet Metal (FESM)
. Designed/Released fender and hood assemblies in Unigraphics;
completed interface requirements & part interface resolutions; supported
peer reviews (release milestones), Design for Manufacturability, DFMEA,
supported prototype builds, completed Statement of Requirements (sourcing
requirements) for FESM parts.
. Performed appropriate vehicle component studies and recommended
program direction based on program imperatives i.e. cost, mass, timing,
etc...
. Applied finite element and modal analysis at component level to
develop and validate designs. Evaluated and Implemented cost reduction and
continuous improvement ideas and model year mid-cycle enhancements
. Quality, Reliability, and Durability Warranty reduction lead
responsible for troubleshooting captured test fleet reports as well as
customer reported dealer issues and closing loop back to the assembly plant
with corrective action. Authored Hood/Fender Best Practices and Hood Latch
handle best practice as well.
5/02 - 5/05 (36mos) Closures DE 06 Buick LeSabre FESM (Fender and Hood
Assemblies, Hinge and Latching Mechanisms, Struts, Release Cable and
Seals): Supported program by Studio by taking vehicle from concept to
production using templated processes and our product development team.
Responsibilities included engineering feasibility, design, analysis,
validation, sourcing, and support through production launch.
8/01 - 5/02 (9mos) Closures Design Release Engineer Cadillac CTS: FESM:
Responsibilities included root causing, organizing design studies, new part
number releases, and evaluating engineering changes to imperative targets.
As an Initial user of the new E2 change management system, became the E2
champion for our group and conducted lessons learned workshop outlining the
system.
