Software Engineer, 2006 – 2010
Contributed to the development efforts including documentation, design, presentations, demos, implementation,
support, debug, testing, and development for six consecutive releases for the Backup Exec product.
• Designed and developed utilities and implemented engine support for MS Virtual Server agent. Worked with
a team on a final product that was and still is a top selling agent for Backup Exec.
• Designed and developed feature to support MS Hyper-V clusters allowing Backup Exec to be the first
product to support virtualization at that level.
• Addressed customer complaints about the Backup Exec not being able to automatically protect new
resources by developing an engine solution for the virtualization agent that laid the ground work for the
Dynamic Inclusion feature to be utilized across all other agents.
• Identified weakness in code and persuaded management to allow development for improvements creating
an improved user experience as well as receiving an award for proactive and prompt action in resolving
issues for the beta release of Backup Exec products.
• Prepared and presented demos and innovative ideas on MS Azure which facilitated growth and relevance of
the Backup Exec product including several new intellectual property concepts related to the cloud.
• Developed proof of concept application for integrating MS System Center Virtual Machine Manager into the
existing product utilizing C# and PowerShell, decreasing implementation time for a new agent if utilized.
• Streamlined developer tools and utilities by developing a C# pluggable application for gathering, adding, and
organizing test tools and utilities.
• Increased collaboration, shared knowledge, promoted education amongst developers by researching and
creating architecture diagrams to clearly outline and explained inner workings of the Backup Exec engine.
• Participated in SWE conference as a keynote speaker and conducted workshops to promote interest in IT
careers for young girls resulting in an award for promoting education and community involvement.
