Project: Development of Commercial Insurance Look-up System (CILS) bridging
Mainframe and Java technologies.
Project Outline: The project dealt with developing a middleware application
to transform the Commercial Insurance policy related information from the
recently developed underwriting system to the Mainframe legacy rating
application along with additional rating information from 15 different look-
up systems.
The task is to create a mapping document to ensure all information fields
were accounted for, mapped and transported to the correct fields in the
legacy application, failing which, the legacy application would blow-up
causing business interruption. This project helps the customer service
representatives in capturing the information in both the applications,
saving time & energy in consolidating all the look-up information.
Responsibilities:
. Conducting JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions with Business
stakeholders to collect requirements.
. Preparing requirement document and receiving sign-off to ensure accuracy

. Creating Screen prototypes using I-Rise screen modeler to ensure the

Project: Assessment and Redesign of the Existing Release Management and
Project Testing Processes
Project Outline: Allianz FFIC's Technology department handles multiple
projects to support Business initiatives to capture the Insurance market.
The project was an Assessment of the existing Release Management and
Testing processes followed by the various projects and proposing a
Centralized process to all the projects at enterprise level.
This centralized process was to be in line with AZOA's (Allianz of
America's) tested Process to ensure uniformity across the organization.
Responsibilities:
. Interviewed business representatives and assessed the various software
applications within FFIC developed for various insurance functionalities.
. Studied tasks from Web Entry of Quote details from Producers till
providing data to Personal and Commercial Departments, providing quotes
to Producers, underwriting and closing the business, apart from billing
and Claims Management.
. Estimated the complexity of the Software Applications used in FFIC,
estimated the efforts involved in testing the applications across all
phases of Testing like System Integration Testing, Functional Testing and
User Acceptance Testing.

Project: Automation of Claims Management System for Workers' Compensation
(WC) Insurance
Project Outline: The project aimed at replacing 20 year old Legacy System
and onetime release of the new partly web-based Software to manage 80% of
the claims by automation. Curam Software forms the basis, which is
customized to meet specific requirements of the WC Board. The Claims
Management System that was developed was one of the largest automated (BPO)
Claims systems in US and Canada.
The project was a huge success in British Columbia and many other Provinces
of Canada are now following suit in replacing their software for their
respective Workers Compensation Board.
Responsibilities:
. Understanding requirements and the existing application through a series
of sessions and training the Testing Team at HCL Technologies while
working in Canada with the Client.
. Gathered the requirements of various departments from the Business Users.
. Prepared an overview document to demonstrate to the customer regarding
understanding of the project, currently being used as project
documentation for knowledge transfer to new team members.
. Reviewed the Test Cases that were written to ensure the functionality and
other requirements were captured correctly.

. Lead the Requirement Study for the largest Public Sector Insurance
Company in India. The company was interested in revamping its existing
systems and the project included preparation of Solutions, integration of
Insure3 and Siebel Systems for demonstration purpose.
. Appraised the existing Policy Administration System of a US based P&C
Insurer for the lines of Auto, Workmen's Compensation and Liability
Insurance. This assessment helped the Project Management Team with the
cost and effort estimation. Prepared the Analysis Document for client
submission to convey our understanding of the current system and the
enhancements as required by the client.
. Worked on a proposal for an Indian P&C insurer who was in the process of
