Highway Technologies (HT) - Jupiter, FL (July, 2008 - June, 2010)

HT is a leading provider of traffic safety services and equipment for the

repair, construction, and maintenance of the highway industry; core

services include traffic control planning and services, pavement marking,

permanent sign and guardrail installation, as well as related merchandise

and equipment rental and sales; customers include highway construction

companies, DOT, municipalities and utilities. As a private equity firm, HT

generates approximately $270 million in revenue with 44 branch locations in

30 states with 1,500 employees.

Southeast Region Supply Chain Manager

Managed all Supply Chain and Fleet functions for the Southeast Region of

HT; lead a team of five salaried personnel and provided strategic direction

to ten indirect reports:

o Managed and negotiated all regional vendor contracts; teamed with the

Supply Chain VP to negotiate and manage corporate strategic vendor

contracts.

o Budgeted/forecasted yearly capital expenditures for fixed asset and

fleet needs; investments exceeded $2.5 million.

o Lead procurement team in the research and acquisition of a new

lightweight material composite to increase material movement capacity

as well as overall safety.

o Aggressively managed the renegotiation of vendor NET payment terms to

60/90 days as well as negotiated date specific payment plans enhancing

company cash flow.

o Procured new strategic fuel vendor resulting in a two year savings of

$750 thousand.

o Implemented a "SIOP" (Sales, Inventory, and Operation Planning)

purchasing initiative focused on scheduling job specific material

meetings with estimating, sales, and operations departments; the

result was a reduction in on-hand merchandise material of $1.2 million

and a reduction in inventory as a percent of monthly revenue from 122%

to 48%; received extensive training from outside "SIOP" consulting

firm Buker Inc.

o Designed and implemented new inventory initiatives resulting in an

increase of merchandise cycle count accuracy from 55% to 95%.

o Trained and affluent in "Lean 5S" principals; team lead in

implementation at HT flagship location in Villa Park, Chicago;

presented findings and best practices to executive team.

o Primary lead in Florida DOT compliance and safety; coordinated closely

with outside fleet consulting firm (NECS Fleet Solutions) to implement

hours of service policies, driver personnel files, load securing, and

Hazmat policies.

Managed a material South Florida Region to include three plant operations

resources, produced efficiencies, and maximized gross margin.
