Position: Project Technical Design Engineer/ Field Service
Engineer
Responsible for field service and project design which includes
organizing machine shops for tooling purchases, working with
project engineers to correct on site issues and to gather
information from our home office to allow the job to operate
efficiently, I was in charge of scheduling logistics for
shipping and receiving. All field service and technical advisor
help was organized out of the office on the job sites utilizing
local industry to help boost economy.
As a Project Design Engineer, I am responsible for project
layout and project design of pressure part assemblies, boiler
units, and power plant layouts for bidding proposals for
commercial power companies. All design layouts, project designs
and proposals are completed in Solidworks or AutoCAD. This
includes working with the project managers, construction
managers, sales, scheduling, and estimating. This includes on
site meetings with the potential customers or current customers
to gather measurements see problem areas and discuss possible
corrective actions for repairs. I worked closely with the
customers to gather all information for project designs from
commercial power plants for both engineering and for proposals.
Another aspect of my responsibilities is to train project
graphic designers' solidworks and the B&W solidworks best
practices. I participate in a Solidworks user group which
developed and wrote the Solidworks best practices for Babcock
and Wilcox Company.
2007-2009 Green Food and Wine Emporium
Facility Manager
Responsibilities included manage everyday operations such
employee schedules, accounting, organizing payroll ordering
inventory and manage everyday sales. Maintain all facility
maintenance, building construction repair and parking lot
maintenance including snow removal. Further responsibilities
included purchasing new equipment necessary for business,
knowledge of refrigerator repair, heating and air condition,
closed circuit security, electrical outlets and components, and
cash register maintenance and programming, responsible for all
outside contracting repairs. I worked with local fire
departments for fire evacuation plans and fire codes and made
sure all licenses for business operation were up to date.
2000 - 2006 Lexington Technologies, North Canton, Ohio
Position: Product Design Engineer
Responsibilities include working closely with sales and account
managers for gathering specific part related information from
customers to design of actual rubber parts to be manufactured
and tested, conduct DFEMA's, FEA's and coordinate APQP meetings
with the mold design engineers, process control leads, account
managers and tooling engineers. Further responsibilities include
design of prototype and production rubber flashless molds (hot
pot and cold pot) injection molds and design of LIM (liquid
injected mold) prototype mold design. Designs include all
milling machine form tools and cutter designs, lathe operations,
and EDM wire paths and EDM graphite sinker design.
Purchasing of all direct and indirect materials for each design.
Producing all DSN files for EDM machining and Surf CAM files for
3 D machining.
Responsibilities also include: Working with the customer to
establish guidelines for rubber part design, computer testing in
Cosmo Works, APQP and design review scheduling and prototype and
production mold design and review. Creation of all prototype
mold standards which are utilized by 6 other designers. Assembly
instructions for prototype, 150 ton, and 400 ton injection molds
for the assembly department. Helped automation engineers design
800 ton automated press injection molds.
All designs completed using both Solidworks and AutoCAD 2000.
Design reviews utilize Solidworks Rapid draft, E drawings, PDF
files and Microsoft word. 3D machine programs use Surf cam. All
other documentation and bill of materials completed in excel.
1991-1999 Seal Master Corporation, Kent, Ohio
Position: Product Engineer
Responsible for the pre-production engineering process including
seal design and development, tool planning and design, including
aluminum extrusions, transfer molds, blow molds and compression
molds, design of fittings such as NPT fittings, barbed hose
fittings, threaded fittings and tire valves, rubber extrusion
dies involving rubber compounds and weight per foot and clicker
dies. Perform duties involved in the design of special molds,
fittings, and extrusions. Work within build specifications,
providing all information necessary for sales, manufacturing,
curing, quality control, shipping, and the customer.
Responsible for follow-up functions including technical writing,
quality control test reports, ordering parts, working with
builders, curing department, and other personnel to ensure
quality seals are manufactured.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Maintain summa cum laude with a 3.87 GPA while working full
time and raising a amily.
Completion of the National Registry of Emergency medical
technology State of Ohio.
Completed the State of Ohio Fire Academy,
worked as a volunteer fireman.
Completion of a new style prototype mold design and machine set
up design standards in
AutoCAD to be utilized by other designers and machinist.
Designed a line of inflatable seals for the vacuum formers used
in the interior design at
