Career Objective:
To continue my career as a Commercial Construction Superintendent, work with a well
established General Contractor and apply my skills and past experience to help with the
growth of the company, and to work in a more challenging environment.
Passed projects:
September 2009- present: $4m renovations to an 86 year old Historic property,
converting the property to “Premium” office space. The project involves selective
demolition, and rebuild, LEED project.
February 2009- August 2009: $14m new construction of premium 5 story, 136 room
hotel. This project was a “Design Build”. Replaced original superintendent, the project
was 6 weeks behind schedule upon arrival; the project was completed on time, and in
budget.
March 2008- January 2009: $12m, 4 story, 111 room, hotel. This was a contracted
project. The project was 8 weeks behind schedule at the time of arrival. Replaced original
superintendent who left the company, the project was completed on time and in the
budget.
July 2007- February 2008: $4.5m educational church building. This project was a
contracted job. Started this projected from the ground up, it was completed on time, and
in the budget.
Oct 2006- June 2007: $22m church building. Assistant superintendent, primary duties
included working with finish sub-contractors, assisting the job superintendent as needed,
and punch list.
Professional skills and training:
Basic computer skills, verbal and written communication, scheduling, problem solving,
and ability to work with others and motivate people
OSHA 30 hour course, CPR and 1st aid, Fork lift operator licensed
Work History:
October 2006- Present: Construction Superintendent with a leading regional General
Contractor based in Mississippi. Duties included management and supervision of all
onsite day to activities, working with sub-contractors, owners and Architects. Provide
direct supervision to company employees. 50+ Hours per week, $55-70 K
January 2004- September 2006: Self employed carpentry sub contractor for a National
Home Improvement chain store. Managed all aspects of day to day work, 2 employees,
purchased and maintained equipment and tools, payroll and all administrative aspects of
running a small business. 60-70 Hours per week, $70-80K
January 2000- December 2003: District executive Boy Scouts of America. Recruited
youth and volunteers, conducted fund raising activities, planned youth activities,
conducted volunteer training, and monthly meetings in a 5 county area in central
Mississippi. 40+ Hours per week, $30-40K
March 1998- December 2000: Self employed residential framing carpenter. Hired and
trained a 7 man crew, worked with home builders and home owners, purchased and
maintained tools and equipment, responsible for all aspects of running a small business.
