Job Title: Senior Database Developer/ Administrator
Start Date of Employment: June 2009 to July 2010
Type of Business: Consumer mortgage & credit analytics Division
Involved in creating end user applications by aggregating mortgage loan
data captured from various legacy systems. I am independently responsible
for architecture, design and implementation of the system which extracts
loan data from various data sources (External files, database and legacy
systems).
As the legacy systems are being retired end of the year, many service
providers (GMAC, Morgan Stanley, FTN, Countrywide, Green point) transition
to new service providers and going forward the data is fed into multiple
systems externally and as such the new application process we are building
captures information from both external and internally serviced loan data
and creates reports for the senior management.
I have thus far created a stand alone custom import process which imports
data from heavily loaded text and excel files in various file formats
(.txt, .xls, .csv fie formats) into a central repository database while
filtering the data based on required data elements much before data is
imported. The technology being used to implement the process is MS-Access,
SQL, Visual Basic, VBScript and VBA where as current legacy and database
systems are implemented in Oracle and SQL platforms. The reporting system
will be built in MS-Access and Excel and there is proposal to build some of
the reports in SQL Reporting services as well.

Projects:
New york Life Investment Management (NYLIM) - MS-Access 2003, Visual basic
6.0
New York life investment Management (NYLIM) administer 63 mutual funds and
provide custody, accounting, reporting and administration services. NYFTI
database extracts yield, money market data and perform yield calculations
and data will be used to create 7 outbound customized extract files defined
by client and delivered via secured FTP by 6:30 PM nightly.
NYFTI Access database takes in FACTS FUND (FN1), Holdings,(HLD), General
Ledger(GLX), SMAC and tax lo holdings(DTL). These extracts are pulled into
the Access database application daily. The users will then manually update
the NYFTI database with reset dates for variable rate securities. After all
the data is entered and imported, the users will calculate the weighted
average maturity (WAM) using a function within NYFTI application. This
information is then combined with the current day fund information to
calculate the various yield figures required by NYLIM. This includes
current yield, current un-reimbursed yield, effective yield, and effective
un-reimbursed yield. Seven customized extracts files are created using the
fund data based on fund type. The extract files are sent to NYLIM via FTP.
The primary goal of this application is to provide the client NYLIM,
accurate and timely data they require to feed into their internal PACE
system.
Outbound files include:
Days to mature, Floating rate, Yield Feeds, Pam Feeds, NAV Feeds, PHL -
Holdings, PSM - Securities added during the month.
NYLIM NAV FAX Application:
The application was created to provide the NYLIM FUND group the ability to
create, email and fax NAV information to various external clients like
FIDELITY INVESTMENTS etc. ANVFAX application gets the feeds FN1 and
historic yield information from the NYFTI access database. The NYLIM and
Fidelity fund numbers are referenced from a snapshot of the SFX Oracle
"NYLIM_XREF_FUND_LIST" table. The application creates an
"informaticaload.csv" file to be used by an informatica workflow to send
NAV information to DST and Nrowwd. This application creates reports on
information for Mainstay funds, McMorgan funds, and also reports on
Fidelity funds.
OFAC Extract Engine - MS-Access, SQl Server, Oracle 10G, Visual Basic 6.0,
Argent Scheduler
Designed and developed OFAC engine that captures partnership information
from 7 OFAC MS-Access databases and Excel spreadsheets. This is a process-
based application written in Visual Basic 6.0 and MS-Access, which gathers
information (data) from MS-Access databases .CSV, Excel, and text files and
updates a central repository SQL database. The captured information in the
repository is further processed based on a set of business rules
implemented within the database through stored procedures in SQL and pass
through queries in MS-Access and business logic was built into both
database and MS-Access interface. And the final data is made ready for
creating partnership extract reports. Visual basic component architecture
(COM) has been used to leverage process capabilities and data aware classes
have been implemented to reduce the application overhead.
Pershing Trade and Caps Conversion Project - Visual Basic 6.0, MS-Access,
COM, Argent
Created a stand-alone process to extract, de-code and convert Pershing
specification files. The application is designed in component object model
to leverage process speed and conversion capabilities. Application decodes
Excel files for trade and caps data and imported into MS-Access database
and data is further filtered into queries and run the reports in .xl and
.txt format. Business logic has been implemented in the database and Visual
basic visual basic COM component, which converts the data for further
processing and for extended reports creation. Excel spreadsheet reports are
created on the fly, which are moved to a network-staging directory at the
end of the process. Argent scheduler kicks off this application daily 7 AM
to reach PERSHING.

- SQl Server, Visual Basic 6.0, MS-Access2003, Argent Scheduler
Created user defined components to import huge volumes of tax data in
various formats (Excel, .CSV, .txt, .PDF files) into an Access database.
These modules are created for IBT Tax group in Sacramento office. I have
upsized (migrated) the MS-Access application to SQL Server 2000 as the MS-
Access database file was growing in Size due to large amounts of tax data
and we have had bloating issues with multiple users accessing the
application from different locations. I have also worked out on a proposal
to create some of the web based reports.
BGI Toronto Cash Projections application:
This application provides BGI with customized cash projection file and
reports on cash and currency in every fund for Trade date through to Trade
date +6 business days by 6:00AM on Trade date. The cash projection would be
determined by settled cash, maturities, buy trades, sell trades, FX Trades,
Coupon payments, dividend payments by currency, corporate actions (local &
CAD), market to market on futures, subscriptions, redemptions, expense
payments.
Senior loans database:

of files for pricing purposes, as well as a number of reports for
reconciliation purposes. The reports reconcile information from FACTS and
Wall Street office for the funds senior debt portfolio, Eaton Vance senior
income Trust, Eaton Vance senior income loan portfolio on FACTS. One the
pricing has been completed on FACTS, SLP will provide a second file for
pricing on Wall Street office.
ITSA Matching Engine - Visual Basic 6.0, Oracle 10g, Argent, MS-Access
Designed and developed a matching Engine for ITSA to use in quarterly ID
reconciliation process. Matching engine was created within built
capabilities to extract information pertaining to Employee Ids and names in
the form of excel spread sheets from various IBT systems like Oracle
databases, mainframes and SEI etc., the information thus gathered is
further processed and matched against Human resources data for data
accuracy and integrity. The processed data is updated during the matching
process to oracle 10g database and Reports are created based on this final
set of data.
Various algorithms and regular expressions have been extensively used in
the engine to automate ID matching process. Presently working on a proposal
to re-engineer the product to accommodate additional data sources and
platforms and creating web based front-end with reports to design in
crystal reports.
