Awards & Scholarships:
Coppenhaver Scholar Columbia, SC 5/2008- 8/2008
Received a fellowship to conduct research under Dr. Sheryl Wiskur. Research
focus was specifically on doing kinetic resolution of enamtiomeric
compounds. The project focused on separation of chiral molecules using a
chiral catalyst, and confirming the product by HPLC and crudely by 1H NMR.
DAAD - RISE Scholar Dortmund, GE 6/2006 - 8/2006
German REU program the focus of which was synthesizing monomers with urea
functionality that had fluorescent and colorimetric properties.
Community Service:
TUCS Scholarships for Undergrads Philadelphia, Pa March 2006
Created and coordinated a lecture that shows undergraduate students
available scholarships and the processes of application. In addition, TUCS
has continued to use this program even after my graduation from Temple
University.
Penrose Elementary School MLK Day Philadelphia, Pa February 2006
Demonstrated and taught simple chemistry experiments to Elementary
students, including chemistry using simple household items.
Temple University Haunted Dorms Philadelphia, Pa October 2005
Through student government, several groups of elementary students were
taken through the dorms so that they would have a safe environment to trick-
or-treat.
