KSA’S
Throughout the years as an Administrative Assistant the knowledge that I have developed at
Nova Southeastern University has given me the opportunity to improve my communication
skills. This has helped me both professionally and personally.
I have further developed my office skills by acquiring a vast knowledge of clerical and
administrative functions such as: customer service, filing, answering the telephone, composing
correspondence, reports, ordering supplies for the office, process travel forms for employees,
monitor employees, time and attendance.
I am a very trusted and reliable person because I was in charge of receiving the test for the
students enrolled in the Pharmacy Degree. A test security procedure is followed to comply with
the company’s standards. After I was promoted to Administrative Assistant I was assigned to
work with Accounts Payable.
An important aspect of my work experience that I work with is travel expense reports. I help
improved the process by helping create guidelines to facilitate the process for personnel. I also
facilitated the mileage calculation process by having permanent maps printed from location to
location. Both of these helped save time completing this task.
I have the ability to communicate orally and verbally in both languages. I have provided
customer service to prospective candidates regarding information of the Pharmacy Program in
person and via the telephone. I provide customer service to vendor. I like to satisfy the clients
and customers expectations.
Another ability I pose is I can handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. At my actual
job there are a lot of last minute requests such as: professors who need to travel to Puerto Rico,
last minute check request needed to be processed immediately to meet deadline dates of
conferences.
I have interpersonal skills. I work with people from different cultures and also, I learn at a fast
pace and I adapt quickly to changes.
I have further developed my skills with computer software because I send to pay invoices on a
daily basis and I have been given the privilege to use banner and Net Search to monitor the
invoices and NSU’s Puerto Rico budget. Another, software that I work with is Ariba this is a
paperless system that I use to pay invoices electronically. I have been given the privilege to be
the petty cash custodian.
I have the ability to plan and coordinate the work of an office and serve as liaison.
