Project Manager

Project Architect for a variety of small to mid-size commercial,

institutional and residential building renovations, additions and interior

fit-outs, including: Emerson College, Harvard Graduate School of Design,

Swiss Consulate, Barnes and Noble, Century Bank and a variety of

contemporary restaurants including Bamboo (Bedford+Dedham) and Mandarin

(Reading).

Responsible for coordinating small teams of architects, interior designers

and engineers to develop and produce strong designs that meet the client's

needs and goals, while portraying a sense of their unique identity. Design

and management responsibilities included:

. Serving as primary project contact for clients, contractors, engineers

and consultants;

. Preparing documentation and representing firm at presentations to town

planning boards and site inspections;

. Greening specifications and developing eco-friendly construction waste

management guidelines;

. Researching and specifying materials and products utilizing green

standards and life cycle analysis;

. Visiting new and existing sites for field study, measurement, analysis

and documentation;

. Developing complete construction drawings from initial design sketches

and determining construction methods and materials which best meet the

design intent and budget;

. Designing millwork, lighting, and other custom fabricated items;

. Checking documents for accuracy and completeness and verifying compliance

with codes and regulations;

. Reviewing and approving submittals and shop drawings and verifying their

accuracy during construction;

. Troubleshooting issues in the field and developing and implementing

solutions.

. Developing and maintaining office CAD prototypes and standards.

February 2000-November 2001

Assistant Project Architect

Project team member in a full service A/E office working on a variety of

commercial and institutional projects, including: Teradyne, Inc., EMC,

Douglas High School.

Primary responsibility was to produce design-development and construction

documents including plans, elevations, sections, and details. Additional

responsibilities included:

. Meeting with clients to develop and clarify program information and

present progress drawings;

. Researching product information and code requirements;

. Developing floor plans including space allocation, egress and circulation

patterns;

. Incorporating information provided by other disciplines including

engineers, consultants and vendors;

. Producing final presentation materials for client approval;

. Reviewing shop drawings submitted by contractors for approval prior to

installation.

DURASTONE, Portland, Maine

October 1998-January 2000

Designer-Draftsman

Member of design team of New England's largest producer of custom

architectural pre-cast concrete. Diverse responsibilities included:

Performing product take-offs and estimates;

Managing projects from initial contract acceptance through release for

production;

Reviewing specifications, coordinating engineering and producing drawings

for fabrication and installation.

STONE HILL HOMES, Freeport, Maine

September 1995-October 1998

Sales, Design and Contracting Assistant

Primary client contact for Maine's largest independent dealer of Lindal

Cedar Homes. Responsibilities included:

Demonstrating design and home building techniques to clients;

Writing project proposals and estimates for client presentation;
