activities of the State. This resulted in the annual primary statistical release that
produced structural information on miscellaneous accounting variables for the
Construction Industry.
• Enforced database integrity by ensuring that data entered into the database was
accurate, valid, and consistent. Applied integrity constraints and data validation
rules before permitting a change to the database. Data integrity in C.S.O Central

identified and covered in the statistical releases.
• Compiled work for field officers in order for them to assist in the collection of
census forms.
• Updated Statistical classification of economic activities in the European

• Participated in a range of tasks related to the analysis, development,
implementation, testing and support of IT systems based on the requirements of
business areas within the C.S.O. Most notably the generic Data Management
System (DMS), which is a statistical production system. The DMS was designed
as an end-to-end generic processing system covering each step from data
capture to dissemination of results. In May 2009, the C.S.O took over
responsibility for application maintenance from the external contractor. All
aspects of the DMS – hardware, database and application support - are now
managed in-house by the C.S.O.
• Responded to external requests for information by querying the Data
Dissemination Service – Database Direct. This database contains principal
