SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Responsible for the delivery of a Windows based C++ product. Architect and implementer for all metrics and
processes related to future client requirements. Total SDLC involvement with proven skills pertaining to
Microsoft Windows development, databases, and other development interfaces. Some accomplishments
include the design and implementation of:
• An event driven simulation model for use in time based economic valuations.
• Knowledge based decision support for use in simulations.
• An embedded IDE (for client use) that can be used to customize product processing.
• “Just in time linking” for dynamic and efficient program execution.
• An Object Oriented database for product use while interfacing to external input/output sources.
• Agents to collect data on different platforms (i.e. Solaris, AIX, etc.).
Currently researching and developing metrics and processes related to “green” computing. The goal is not
only to measure the impact and cost on IT computing, but also to empower the client to make informed
decisions based on “what if” scenarios, load redistribution, and other means for improved “green” computing
decisions.
SERVICES
Services were related to Capacity Management and IT Cost (i.e. charge-back) reporting, and included
remote and on-site client support, services, and training. Accomplishments include the design and
implementation of:
• Service based processes for contracted performance analysis and reporting.
• Metrics and processes for the Capacity Management of “metered” systems.
• Product and services alignment within the ITIL framework.
• Methods for using business metrics, ABC methods, and IT performance data to determine IT costs.
Other services included custom (on/off-site) studies pertaining to major purchase decisions. Developed and
published white papers related to IT performance and costing issues. Have done numerous presentations of
different topics at various trade shows and client meetings. The presentations were in the US and overseas,
and included topics related to the effective management of IT Assets, IT Governance, and the Business
Value of IT.
ADJUNCT PROFESSOR 2000 - 2003
University of Phoenix Phoenix, Arizona
Taught Management and Technical classes at undergraduate and graduate levels.
DEPARTMENT MANAGER PRIOR TO 1987
Unisys Corporation Tredyffrin, Pennsylvania
Manager of a multi-section group consisting of about 25 employees, and responsible for the Quality
Assurance and worldwide Support of the Large System (mainframe) software. Quality Assurance
responsibilities included integrating with software and hardware Engineering to ensure quality product
delivery during the product development life cycle (from 1 to 3 years). Support responsibilities included the
“last line” of support for all worldwide Customer Engineers and consisted of paper, phone, and onsite visit.
Responsibilities included: budgeting, salary actions, staffing, inter/intra group and management
communications, and multi project management incorporating diverse and changing time lines. An ever
changing environment required constant development of techniques and processes to enable the group to
succeed.
