St. Tammany Humane Society 2008 to
Present
Executive Director, Covington, LA
Manage veterinary clinic and animal shelter's business operations,
adoptions, fundraising, public relations, budget development/management,
marketing and facilities management. Reporting to the Board of Directors,
I operate a budget of $1.3 million, 27 staff members and hundreds of
volunteers to provide humane services, education, adoptions, sheltering
and/or care to thousands of animals annually.
Accomplishments include:
. Increased revenue by $315,344 or 206% from FY 2008 to FY 2009 by
implementing a solid business and fundraising plan. During the same
time period, I cut total expenses by $39,391.
. Added an additional day of operations, opening six days a week instead
of five and increased the average daily shelter count by 30% even
while total expenses were cut.
. As of August 2010 increased adoptions 24% over the same period last
year.
. Increased number of volunteers from 12 in May 2008 to 235 volunteers
as of August 2010.
American Red Cross 1995 to
2008
Thirteen years of continual advancement with the American Red Cross.
Positions include:
COO /Palm Beach Area Chapter, West Palm Beach, FL 2007 - 2008.
. Supervised four branch offices as well as the finance, marketing and
public relations, information technology, facilities management and
health and safety departments with a budget of $5 million and 49
employees and hundreds of volunteers to provide all American Red Cross
training programs and emergency services to 1.4 million people.
Chapter Solutions Manager, Oklahoma City, OK, 2004 -2007
. Provided consulting to fifteen American Red Cross chapters throughout
the State of Oklahoma to ensure quality Red Cross services, volunteer
program development, financial stability, fundraising
planning/execution, and board and executive management development.
. Successfully implemented the first statewide multiple Red Cross
chapter grassroots fundraiser achieving over $300,000 from new donors
during a three week campaign for 15 Red Cross units.
. Deployed on multiple national disaster responses including assignments
as Director of ESF-6 (sheltering and mass care) with FEMA region 6
during hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Executive Director of the Greater Nashua Chapter, Nashua, New Hampshire,
2003 -2004
. Managed a staff of 5 and hundreds of volunteers while being
responsible for raising a budget of $450,000 to provide all Red Cross
services to 190,000 people spanning 14 cities and towns.
. Received Red Cross certification in Gift Planning and Charitable Gift
Annuities, CPR First Aid Instructor Trainer, and Disaster Instructor
Trainer.
Station Manager, Mobile - National American Red Cross, 1997 -2003
. Assignments: Station Manager II at Osan Air Base, Korea; Station
Manager I at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA; Stand Alone Assistant
Station Manager at MCB Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan; Assistant Station
Manager at Fort Benning, Georgia; And two six month assignments to
Bosnia, Croatia and Hungary.
. Deployed scores of times on national disasters working in sheltering,
PR and fundraising.
. Provided 24/7 emergency casework services, budget management,
fundraising, public relations and managed large volunteer programs.
. Exceeded fundraising goals each of the six years using traditional and
unconventional development activities.
. Developed the first Red Cross overseas car donation program and while
in Korea. I took advantage of inexpensive manufacturing and developed
scores Red Cross products (watches, umbrellas, pins, etc.) which I
sold back in the states to hundreds of chapters raising over $600,000.

. Administered 20+ Red Cross health and safety classes each month using
only volunteers, managed large volunteer program, produced monthly
newsletter and coordinated golf tournament.
