Hired by several residential property owners in Black Hawk to renovate
and remodel their homes using historic rehabilitation grant funds.
Starting my own framing company in 1983, I have framed several hundred
residential homes, and was a general contractor for many commercial
projects.
( Projects included a wide range of construction types
(wood, steel, and concrete), electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish,
insulation, utilities in project budgets from a few thousand dollars
to over $1,000,000.
( Was required to follow rules and regulations to maintain
historical integrity and devised creative solutions to various
construction problems including methods to breakup and remove rock,
dirt and construction debris from a location where heavy equipment was
unable to get to.
( Assisted homeowners in grant applications and worked
closely with engineers, architects, city building officials,
attorneys, and others in planning, coordinating and completing
projects.
