Selected to become the lead field technician for District One in the state
of Illinois GIS billboard inventory project. This project involved the use
of a handheld GIS device used to collect data that will allow the state to
keep track of existing and new billboard inventory with GPS coordinates.
Responsibilities included the use of a company truck to drive state routes
to locate existing billboards, acquire a GPS location, measurements, and
photo of each billboard, complete an excel spreadsheet with appropriate
requirements to finally be used in the creation of a GIS map. Trained in
the use of ArcView 9.3, part of the ArcGIS software product family.
