I managed (but really worked with) key regional salespersons along with

their high volume private label customers. I was a problem solver. I

traveled across the country to work with the large corporate accounts and

attended trade shows. I was the contact for our largest suppliers including

Dow Corning, Union Carbide and Kent Landsberg. I managed sales account and

international accounts in Canada, Japan and Europe including complying with

international shipping and legal issues.

Office Supervisor, Customer Service Supervisor and Special Accounts

Supervisor

J.C. Garet Inc. (Now subsidiary of Dial Corporation.)

June 1983 - January 2002

I started as an office assistant. I was responsible for computer input and

organization of customer files. I was soon transferred to customer service.

I became the primary person almost immediately. I listened to customer

complaints and was able to resolve their problems speedily and efficiently.

I also became one of the best "bad account" collectors. I later became the

main contact for the larger, important customers. I personally handled the

more demanding customers. I managed up to nine to twelve other office team

members. When the company was smaller I also did weekly payroll, bank

deposits and human resources. These later became separate departments. We

created a hierarchy of supervision for the various sections. I oversaw

their functioning but rarely needed to jump in because we had a good team.

I always assisted in these departments when they were short handed or

needed to hire new employees. When audited I was the main point person as I

had a complete understanding of the accounting software, including

invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, taxes and the

balance sheets. I also did eighty percent of the firing when necessary.

In addition to customer service, which I never really left I took on

additional responsibilities.

I was later responsible for overseeing the scheduling and ordering of raw

good for the manufacturing side of the business. Due to limited warehouse

space the ordering of raw goods and overall production scheduling was a

difficult balance. I would schedule ordering and delivery which had to be

planned several weeks or months in advance. I was also responsible for the

calendaring of deliveries. I had to take into account manufacturing time,

packaging and schedule containers for oversees shipment and delivery

scheduling. I arranged raw goods ordering and production. Near the end of

production I coordinated "end product" details and shipping according to

special customer delivery requests. I verified orders, oversaw and

scheduling billing and developed the time tables from receiving of raw

product to final production to shipping. Said orders consisted of shipping

containers and fleet shipments both nationally and internationally. I

reported directly to higher management and plant supervisors. The company

was rather small with thirty to forty employees. Our sales exceeded several

million dollars annually.

All along, especially for special customers, I did data entry of Accounts

Receivable including excel spreadsheets, invoicing and shipping data and

Word documents. I also oversaw data entry of Accounts Receivable and

Accounts Payable and related excel spreadsheets.

I am well versed in Microsoft Word, Outlook and to less of an extent Excel.

I have adequate skills in Microsoft Publisher and Power Point. I am an

excellent writer. I am an excellent researcher. I have excellent people

skills and can deal with the public very well. I tend to have a calming

effect with difficult individuals, especially those in a crisis. I am

organized and very patient. I have never missed a deadline and will do what

it takes to get the job done.

nation on the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).
