Software Intern, Nous Infosystems, India (Dec 2008- Apr 2009)
< Designed, developed and implemented a prototype Intelligent Heart
Disease Prediction System using data mining techniques namely Decision
Trees and Na ve Bayes. The prototype required the use of Java as front
end and SQL as back end
< The GUI was designed on the basis of MVC design-patterns and swing
APIs are used extensively.
< Applied Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM)
methodology to build the mining model which covers six major phases:
Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Preparation,
Modeling, Evaluation and Deployment.
< Responsible for gathering and writing documentation of program
development and subsequent revisions.
< Performed the tasks of preparing presentations on the developed
modules.
Skill Set
. Operating Systems: Windows 9X/2000/XP/NT/Vista, Unix
. Languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Visual
Basic, XML, UML,SOAP
. Database: Oracle 8i/9i, MS Access, SQL
. Software Design Tool: Rational Rose
. Software Suite: MS Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint)
. Multimedia Tool: Adobe Flash
. IDEs: Netbeans, Eclipse, MS Visual Studio
Academic Projects
< Graph-Based Substructure Pattern Mining: Developed a prototype that
discovered frequent substructure patterns within a graph dataset using
C++. The implementation was done using a newly proposed GRID
representation which stored graphs efficiently.
< Degree-Constrained Minimum Spanning Tree Using Genetic Algorithm:
Generated minimum spanning trees of the degree no more than a given
value d (d-MST) using C++. The concept of graph theory and genetic
algorithm was used.
< Railway Reservation System: This project was developed for the
reservation and cancellation of tickets with Visual Basic 6.0 as front
end and Oracle 9i as back end. Appropriate data report was generated.
< Social Network Service: Developed a package to represent the artifacts
of a social network service using the tool Rational Rose. Structural
diagrams such as Class, Component, Deployment Diagrams and Behavioral
diagrams such as Use case, State chart, Activity, Interaction diagrams
were used.
< Kerberos: Developed a package in Java to provide authentication for
client/server applications by using secret-key cryptography.
