I recently served as an interim Chief Financial Officer for several early
stage companies involved in installation of cable television services,
international long distance, and broadband communications. My primary
duties were to improve financial reporting in preparation of the annual
audit and to prepare financial projections and offering memorandums to
raise new capital.
Chief Financial Officer, Berliner Communications, Inc. 2006-2007
Public company that provides site construction services to communications
companies:
Prepared SEC reports and led the initial implementation of Sarbanes-
Oxley; Designed and implemented a budget process and improved internal
financial reporting; Streamlined and improved output from a Timberline
based percentage of completion job cost system; Implemented revised
billing procedures to improve cash collections; Procured new senior and
convertible debt and maintained relationships with investors and lenders;
Successfully negotiated key acquisition agreements and performed due
diligence.
Chief Financial Officer, Dianet Communications, Inc. 2004-2006
A startup company involved in constructing distributed antenna systems for
wireless companies:
Raised $1 million of private equity from investors and subsequently
prepared an offering memorandum and raised $12 million of equity and debt
from an investment fund; Participated in preparation of successful RFP
for the construction of wireless telephone system on the New York City
Subway platforms and procured a $130 million financial commitment for
that subway project; Established budgeting and financial reporting
system.
President and COO, Oceanic Digital Communications, 2001-2004
A Domestic company with wireless telephone operations in the Caribbean and
Central America:
Increased the number of paying subscribers from 25,000 to over 100,000
and increased revenue and reduced expenses to achieve positive cash
flow; Procured $30 million of debt financing; Managed the construction
of a wireless telephone system on a major Caribbean Island.
