Education:
> Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering
September 2004-December 2006
Cleveland State University, Cleveland, OH
> Bachelors of Engineering in Chemical Engineering
August 2000-August 2003
University of Mumbai, India
> Diploma in Chemical Technology (Petroleum and Petrochemicals)
July 1997-August 2000
M.S.B.T.E., Mumbai, India
MS Projects:
> Alternative adsorbents used for removal of textile dyes from wastewater,
Cleveland State University
The research included investigating the various alternatives for
activated carbon used in Adsorption process. The adsorption properties of
the alternatives on textile dyes were compared with activated carbon, the
results of all the experiments were plotted and based on it the best
suitable alternative was proposed.
> Life Cycle Assessment, Cleveland State University
The project involved leading a team of students for analysis and
comparison of the various types of floorings. Based on their
environmental impact, cost effectiveness, hygiene and other factors,
various types of floorings like traditional carpet flooring, recycled non-
toxic carpet square flooring, bamboo flooring etc. were investigated and
the best type of flooring was proposed.
> Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Project, Cleveland
State University
The goal of the project was to investigate various buildings at Cleveland
State University and determine their rating and propose alternatives
based on the LEED certification. A detailed analysis of energy
optimization, risk assessment, waste stream management, indoor
environmental quality and building site maintenance program was carried
out and alternate proposals to maximize the operational efficiency,
upgrade strategies and minimize environmental impact made for long term
cost effectiveness.
> Chlorination of Benzene, Senior Design
The project involved evaluation and selection of a feasible process,
material balance, energy balance and a preparation of PFD's and UFD's. It
also included analysis of fixed and variable cost estimations, site
selection, plant layout, and environmental safety considerations.
Conducted Breakeven Analysis and calculated return on investment and
time.
