The Lanthorn is Grand Valley State University's award-winning, student-run

newspaper produced twice weekly with a distribution of 8,000 on two

campuses. Our Web site reaches thousands more internationally, which I

featured and promoted during my time as Editor in Chief, adding Web

exclusives, video, slide shows and podcasts.

Editor in Chief September 2007 - April 2008

Ran the entire newspaper, managed staff, wrote editorials and

enhanced Web exclusive content, which doubled our online

readership. Oversaw redesign of Web site to make more engaging

and user-friendly.

Managing Editor January 2007 - April 2007

Content edited all articles for each issue, wrote headlines,

managed section editors and assisted the Editor in Chief in

running the newspaper.

Created a thoughtful, engaging opinion column twice weekly.

Acted as production assistant on shoots for commercial clients

including HGTV, DIY, WE, and BET, along with corporate videos

and satellite shoots. Wrote and assisted editing promotional

video. Stage-managed media tours. Also assisted in-house on

projects and research.
