Work Experience

Volunteered at the Community Legal Information Center for a year working

with the County Jail Law Project. Developed skills in working with clients

and adapting to a professional office environment. I provided legal

information to inmates at the county jail through mail correspondence. I

researched individual cases, and provided motions, and case law. I explained

laws, legal documents, and court proceedings. This was a team environment;

we all worked together through a case, and took direction from a supervising

attorney.

After working with the Community Legal Information Center I was offered a

paid position at the Butte County Jail working with clients face to face. I

managed this office and had sole office responsibilities while I was

working. I tracked all correspondences, managed cases and information given

to inmates, used books, online resources, and my own knowledge to assist

clients in understanding the law and their case. Required excellent

customer care skills and the ability to work in difficult conditions.

I have experience with Lexus Nexus, Westlaw, basic filing, e-filing, quick

books, MS Office, and many other tools for the legal environment.

While working at Walgreen's I ensured a consistent and quality store

experience, greeted customers and communicated promotional strategies, and

worked to exceed average transaction goals. My role was very customer

service based and required a depth of knowledge on products and how to

recommend them to clients. I supervised the Cosmetology department which

included management of employees, inventory management, and making display

decisions. Also included working with money, balancing the cash drawer, and

closing the store at night.

Campus and Community Involvement

I was an active participant in Phi Sigma Tau, the Philosophy Honor Society,

for three years. I held the Vice President Position.

I was a member of the Chico State Speech and Debate club, and was a winning

and qualified Debater.

Volunteered for Up 'Til Dawn, a fundraiser for St. Jude's children hospital,

for four years.

I was involved with Adventure Church, in many different volunteer projects

including: Gathering Inn a project to help the homeless, Thanksgiving

fundraisers and services, and projects to help troubled girls in Downtown

Sacramento.

Volunteered with CARES, SANE, and other HIV/AIDS prevention and education in

Sacramento.
