REGION PURCHASING & INVENTORY MANAGER - SOUTHEAST (2004 to Present)
Promoted to direct day-to-day Region Purchasing & Inventory Control
operations, including vendor negotiations, across 30 branches within the
Southeast Region, generating $320M in sales for a leading distributor of
electrical products and one of the nation's largest providers of integrated
supply services. Develop and manage the largest purchasing and inventory
staff within the Industrial / Construction (I/C) Group consisting of 14
managers and buyers to ensure superior performance. Drive key performance
indicators, including inventory turns, inactive inventory, fill rates,
preferred supplier usage, inbound freight cost, quality of inventory, and
cost side improvements. Serve as primary interface between branches and
suppliers for supplier base exceeding 1000 partners.
Selected accomplishments:
. Drove reductions in Region Inactive Inventory to lowest levels on
record - from 14% to 6.8% (2008); additionally, reduced inventory by
43% (2009) while increasing fill rates to 94%.
. Increased Purchasing Manager productivity by 100%; doubled the
quantity of branches each was responsible for, resulting in an
increase in fill rates from 88% to 94%.
. Led I/C Group in cost side negotiation dollars (2005 to 2008).
. Managed region as first to pilot centralized buying structure and
demonstrate purchasing as a profit center.
. Developed and promoted successful centralized buying concept in the
I/C Group.
. Eliminated material flow issues in key OEM branches throughout the

made up of seven branches throughout Tennessee. Acted as district
representative to key suppliers; negotiated best cost basis with suppliers,
as well as into stock costs and rebates.

. Piloted lean warehousing initiative across the Southeast Region,
representing one of the first applications of lean principles to
warehousing operations of its kind as stated in The Electrical
Distributor magazine.
