This was a multi-million dollar expansion for Yellow Freight Systems to make USF profitable and competitive in the LTL/TL market. TRANSPORTATION MANAGER 9/04 – 3/05
CARDINAL-GENESIS LOGISTICS FULLERTON, CA
Duties included but not limited to the nightly distribution of all CITGO, (7-11) stores in Southern California. I was responsible for the routing, dispatching, discipline of all 62 drivers and assisted the warehouse in the pick and pack of all products using WMS to monitor individual production.
1. Planned and scheduled load for 60 drivers nightly to deliver all 7-11 stores on time.
2. Daily audits of equipment, tools and trucks using DVIR and drivers recap sheets to repair any faulty equipment.
3. Audited all drivers hour-of–service to assure they were in compliance with DOT.
4. Planned the inbound product from outside carriers to stock/restock the inventory based on the negotiations with all carriers. Appointments were held to a high standard to allow the warehouse staff to perform at 95% or better in production.
5. Assisted in FDA and OSHA audits weekly to remain in compliance with regulations.
OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR 10/03 – 9/04

Responsible for all 50 tractor-trailer drivers daily performance and on time delivery of all baking products produced in our warehouse. We serviced over 800 customers weekly by appointment and used Roadnet and GPS to schedule every delivery and pick-up. In the warehouse we performed daily cycle counts and inventories using WMS technology to maintain current stock and product as necessary to avoid shortages and monitor rotation of stocked items.

We operated the swing shift which processed over 600 bills nightly and loaded over 1 million pounds from all the Southern California Terminals. We had over 120 dock doors and provided stellar Customer Service to Home Depot and Lowes. During my tenure in Line-haul, we made dramatic improvements that immediately improved on time delivery and meet and turns which eliminated a large portioned of owner operators moving partial loads at a high costs.
1. Planned and scheduled 90% of all loads from existing plans submitted to various terminals for consolidation and profitable movement of LTL freight throughout the company in 17 western states. This was done by compiling information provided by the terminals and we would consolidate equipment and manpower setting up an average of 64 runs nightly including shuttling freight among southern California Terminals.

I began in line-haul and was promoted to Terminal Manager in less than one year. I went from running 2 small terminals in CA and AZ to a 133 door terminal the following year. I/we earned Terminal of the Year in two different locations that I managed.
