Logistics Analyst (Sep 2008 - Present)

Akzo Nobel Paints LLC (formerly ICI Paints), Strongsville, OH - World's

largest decorative and industrial paint manufacturer with annual revenue of

E18B. North America operations include 5 plants/DCs, 350 company owned

stores and wide network of independent dealers and customer base with

annual transportation spent exceeding $160MM.

Responsibilities: Lead analyst of Supply Chain strategy group, reporting to

Director of N.A. Logistics. Responsibilities include freight budget,

reporting KPI, Waterfall, GAP analysis, monthly accruals and ongoing

continuous network improvement, freight consolidation/delivery frequency

study, mode/deficit weight muda, CPG analysis and fulfillment analysis.

Additional responsibilities include managing rail operations and contract

management for TL carrier

. Initiated and executed TL bid for entire Akzo Nobel group companies with

combined TL spent of $75MM. Leveraged TL volume across multiple business

units. Realized annual savings of $3.4MM

. Recommended modal shift (TL to Intermodal) for interplant shipments,

coordinated changes to realign raw material inventory and re-order level

with transit time. This Green initiative was highly appreciated by

leadership due to its impact on fuel savings and significant carbon

dioxide emission avoidance. Realized annual savings of approx $1MM

. Initiated the HUB & Spoke study for the 300+ company owned stores across

United States, designed the network and supported ongoing implementation.

Estimated savings $2.2MM

. Negotiated a rental lease track arrangement with NS for storing inbound

raw material cars, resulting in demurrage and switch charges avoidance.

Annual reduction of demurrage by $600K

. Lead a cost benefit analysis project to determine whether continue with

3PL or switch to house operations for west coast. Based on study,

management opted for in house operations, with projected savings of $2MM

in 2 years.

Logistics/Management Analyst (May 2005 - Aug 2008)

Schneider Logistics Inc, Cleveland, OH - Logistics consulting division of

Schneider National, a leading provider of transportation, logistics and

related services. Client Polyone Corporation, one of the largest polymer

manufacturing companies in the world with annual transportation budget over

$65MM

Responsibilities: Consulting logistics analyst and member of on-site 3PL

team. Responsible for analytical & strategic

support, presenting logistics KPI's to the company's leadership team,

ongoing Gap analysis and logistics scorecards to

respective business owners. Lead logistics cost saving initiatives

including TL & LTL consolidation, modal shift analysis,

routing guides, AOS/def weight cost impact analysis, network optimization,

carrier cost increase and carrier replacement

analysis. Assist Account Director with carrier management issues, industry

best practices and benchmarking drills

. Designed and implemented Truckload network project involving more than

1,400 truckload lanes. Annual savings realization over $700K

. Completed sustainability analysis of 45 truck dedicated fleet to

determine optimal fleet size and improve fleet efficiency, increase

loaded ratio and reduce back haul miles. Identified 3 truck extra

capacity and proposed network savings through shared backhaul services.

Annual operating cost reduction of approx $600K compared to budget

. Developed and implemented CSR Scorecard for the 14 member CR team. The

scorecard measured individual CSR efficiencies in terms of cost

(selecting low cost carrier), responsiveness (dispute resolution) and

compliance (on time performance) on a monthly basis. Resulted in

operating cost reduction of approx $300K compared to budget

Process Analyst (Mar 2004 - May 2005)

Patni Computers, California, CA - Full service IT/CRM/Consulting Company

with annual revenue of $2B and operations in all major countries

Responsibilities: Responsible for mapping high level business processes for

Siebel CRM implementation for MVNO Mobile service. Point of contact between

client NPI group and development team. Map process flow charts for all

major functions and integration platforms for channel partners like credit

verification agency, billing agency, reporting agency, shipping and

fulfillment agencies. Performed requirement gathering, technical

requirement documentation for Business Analysis Development (BAD), change

control process and release control process for the development team.

Customer Service Operations (CSO) - MBA Supply Chain Performance Intern

(May 2003 - Aug 2003)

Seagate Technology, LLC, Scotts Valley, CA - Worldwide leader in the

design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc drives, with annual

revenue exceeding $10B

Responsibilities: As MBA intern, work on two projects as assigned by Supply

Chain group - (1) CVP analysis for 12 slow moving Drive SKU till phase out

and (2) CSO freight audit

. Completed a detailed cost benefit analysis for the specific 12 SKU drive

business and recommended postponement of drive assembly to reduce

inventory and sustain profitability. Resulted in 12% inventory reduction

and $680K cost impact. Project implemented

. Audited the world wide CSO freight budget and saved $800,000 by reversing

freight costs claimed by DCs that have already been covered in the

warranty of returned drives.
