Employment Mechanical Engineer
2008 - Present Rotec Industries, Inc. Elmhurst, IL
60126
Mechanical layout and design of conveying systems
and associated equipment for the placing of
concrete and bulk materials in accordance with
ASME, CEMA and BOCA standards. Design involved the
use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D as well as Inventor and
FEA software. Major designs were the design of a
jacking system to lift a 150,000 lb. crane, a
platform to hold a crane on a self-rising tower,
the redesign of a telescoping conveyor system, and
the design of a hydraulic power unit. Developed
spread sheets in Excel for creation of overall BOM
for projects and repetitive calculations.
Field Engineer
2006 - 2008 Intelligrated, LLC Mason, OH 45040
Field engineering, audits, troubleshooting, and
corrective action requests of material handling and
conveying systems at distribution centers
nationwide. Project management of repair,
maintenance, rebuild and commissioning of conveyor
systems. Established preventive maintenance
programs for conveyor systems. During slow times I
also designed smaller conveyor systems and assisted
the local office with the design of large systems.
Mechanical Engineer and Owner
1982 - 2006 Bartlett Process Camera, Inc. Bartlett,
IL 60103
Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical design and
redesign of cameras, film and plate processing
equipment, and assorted other printing machinery.
Field service and preventive maintenance of the
same equipment. The most challenging project was to
redesign a horizontal camera to fit in a space two
feet lower and expand the capabilities of the
camera by 30%. I also wrote the PLC program to
correct a problem in the operation of a plate
processor for Fuji Film USA.
