• Work with Adult and “At-Risk Youth”: provide basic-skills tutoring in reading and math while working
as an Aide for the Mt Sac Basic Skills Lab (mathematical computations and reading comprehension)
• Contribute full clerical support to youth programs: filing, type correspondence, data entry into database
system, maintain attendance records, prepare comprehensive reports, etc.
• Participant needs assessment and resource referrals (to address education and employment barriers)

• Facilitate and Monitor Youth Center: Assure youth in the center (open to the public) sign in and abide by
all center rules; assist with the use of technology to complete college and job applications, FAFSA,

• Recruit youth for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program; determine program eligibility assuring
compliance with Department of Labor regulations, and assist with Youth orientations (public speaking)
• Provide main Receptionist/switchboard relief: Operate telephone switchboard for high volume calls,
transfer calls accordingly, take messages, greet and direct visitors, and provide information on over 25
programs operated by the agency
• Act as liaison between worksites and the agency: provide worksite supervisor orientations, complete
necessary new hire paperwork and forms, monitor worksites to assure program compliance
• Responsible for processing and calculating time-sheets for over 150 participants
October 2006 – April 2009: CITY OF GLENDALE –GLENDALE, CA
• Design and carry out landscape projects to improve the beauty of the cities’ public access areas (parks,
public lawns, ravines, etc.) and prevent mudslides during rainy seasons
• Operate weed eater, chain saw, pull saw, mc cloud, pest control system, etc. to trim trees, remove debris,
and clear hillside brush, weeds, and harmful pests from City parks, lawns, and green belts
• Performed general labor tasks such as property clean-up, yard maintenance, ground maintenance, etc. to
remove blight and maintain Glendale neighborhood beauty
• Assisted city staff to plan and implement special events such as Holiday parade, 4th of July picnic, etc.
• Responsible for the development and instruction of educational curriculum for youth
