Career Goals: A challenging professional position utilizing proven skills
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, University of
Arkansas, Fayetteville Arkansas. December 1992.
My experience includes:
Software Development - C, C++, MFC, MS Visual Basic, MS Access, SQL Server,
Java Script, PHP, VB Script and SQL are tools and languages that I have
worked with extensively using Visual Studio and other tools. I have
developed software for Windows and Linux (Red Hat & Debian). I am fluent in
HTML, Java Script, Vb Script, CGI, ASP, and ISAPI (IIS extension)
development. I have used these tools to create a number of database enabled
web sites and applications. I have employed the 8088, 8051/8952,
MC68HC705, MC68HC11, RISC, x86 and other processors in the development of
embedded controllers. I have extensive experience in database development
and administration using SQL Server, PostgreSQL data server, MySQL data
server, Oracle, Informix, Access, Foxpro, and many other database tools.
Electrical Engineering - Development of embedded micro controllers products
with responsibilities including device selection, research and development,
printed circuit board design and layout, and assembly. I have also
developed extensively on embedded PC systems, creating database driven
applications using Visual Basic and Visual C. I have developed hardware and
software for data acquisition and analysis test equipment products capable
of measuring frequency, inductance, capacitance, and resistance. I've
designed and produced embedded controllers.
Systems Administration - Installation, administration and maintenance of
Windows (all versions), Linux (Red Hat & Debian), OS/2, and DOS systems and
networks. Networks, Network File Systems, Database Servers (both Windows
and Linux platforms using PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Access and
others), DNS Servers (Windows DNS and Bind), Email Servers (Sendmail, Exim,
Cyrus, Imail and others) and Web Servers (IIS and Apache) are all services
that I have installed, administered, and maintained extensively in
production environments. Disaster recovery and system restoration are also
skills that I can leverage with professional dispatch. I have extensive
experience with Mass Storage systems and image/document archival systems.
Professional Experience:
National Financial Services, February 2008 - December 2008.
(Contract Software Development and Systems Administration), Single handedly
administrated and developed the software for National Financial Services.
(see below for complete description)
North American Banking Company, March 2005 - November 2006
(Contract Software Development), While working for North American Banking
Company in Minnesota, and some of their customers, I implemented a system
of check image archival suited for money order companies to use for
research. The archive server ran Linux, and the client software was either
web site applications or Windows applications developed in Visual Studio
2003 using C++ and MFC.
National Financial Services, March 2003 - February 2005
(Contract Software Development), While working for National Financial
Services, a local money order processing company, I wrote image
archival/retrieval software similar to any banks. All archival software was
written for Linux in C++. Customers can retrieve images or checks via email
or web interfaces. Also wrote 'Daily Processing', software that imports a
large item file and then exports, via email and fax, the smaller item files
needed by our customers. 'Daily Processing' was written in Visual C++ for
Windows and runs on any Windows system. I built and maintained a network
consisting of machines in three states, two banks, several machines on the
local network, some of which ran Windows and some of which ran Linux.
Self Employment, June 1998 - February 2003
(Contract Employment), Web Design, Programming, and Electrical Design on a
host of different projects. Work included System Administration
(installation, configuration of operating systems, web servers, email
servers, DNS servers, database servers, shared file systems) and database
design for web sites. Hardware Technologies included: Embedded Controller
Design, 8032/8952 processors, Embedded C, Digital and Analog Design, PCB
Design and Layout, Wireless Networking, PC Hardware and more. Software
Technologies included: Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, PHP, MySql HTML, Java
Script, C/C++, IIS, ASP, Access, SQL Server, ADO, Visual Basic, Visual C++
and many more.
The Slaughter Co., November 1996 - June 1998
(Electrical Engineer), Programming, Service, and Engineering on Data
Acquisition Equipment (Wound Products Tester) using embedded PC system.
Developed high speed data acquisition and analysis software. Technical
Support. On and off site service. Electronic and mechanical design.
Database programming. Visual Basic and Visual C++, ODBC, SQL, network
administration, ActiveX, Remote OLE/Automation, Client/Server, etc.

(Electrical Engineer), Temporary position programming and maintenance of
High Technology Numeric Control machines used in the manufacture of
integrated circuits. Maintenance of clean room climate control equipment,
compressors, chemicals and inventory.
Self Employment, 1991 - 1993
(Project Engineer), Single handedly designed and manufactured real time
programmable logic control systems for gas stations. From concept to
manufacture, Component Selection, Circuit Design, coding on an embedded
8088, Circuit board layout, Enclosure design and manufacture, and all
