EXPERIENCE
Completed two degrees: a Master's in Business Administration with a focus
on International Affairs from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, in
Porto Alegre, Brazil and a second degree in International Finance from
Universit de la Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3. Meanwhile, I worked in
various contracting roles writing ColdFusion 8 and 9 code as an independent
contractor. Other technologies that were used on the sites were jQuery,
jQueryUI, CSS, HTML, Javascript, and many sites were upgraded from older
versions of ColdFusion to the latest releases. Writing custom tags and CFC
were another area of focus, used primarily to leverage Object Oriented
Programming practices. Software was run on both IIS and Apache, with
performance tuning and security areas of scrutiny. Another project that
was started but fell apart due to bureaucracy was a Flex application for
the Brazilian government.
Director of Technology
May 2006 - July 2008
inVue LTD London
Responsible for spearheading the Java and ColdFusion development teams,
constantly investigating the latest mobile software application technology
and applicable human uses of mobile technology. Primary accomplishment was
to create a J2ME application to give mobile computing ability to small to
mid-sized businesses as well as individuals in the Developing World/Global
South. I helped to move the company from traditional B2B to enable
individuals in Asia and Africa to use their mobile phone as a mobile
computing device. We have used 3G technologies to work around legacy SMS
constraints to facilitate information flow.
Processes that I implemented: version and source control, testing
methodologies, bug tracking, error logging, load balancing, failover and
deployment procedures, SMS integration, Agile development practices and
migration to Linux environment.
Essentially, I took an undeveloped, unmanaged, garage operation and have
implemented best-of-breed development methods and grew the product into a
stable, robust, and secure software-based BlackBerry-ish replacement for
the developing world.
Self Employed, Various

Oracle education facility, and technology-driven solutions for the
Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

deployment of e-commerce initiatives, direction of marketing efforts and
creation of strategic alliances.
Web Developer
November 2000 - May 2001

development was another area of focus; I have been working with Flash,
DHTML, JavaScript and CSS.

leadership and coaching into the development of Active Server Pages and
HTML. Other duties included the planning of future architecture for the

www.marriott.com Functionality that I implemented included the ability to
sign up for the Marriott Rewards program online, as well as migration from
antiquated Visual Basic executables to dynamic database driven content.
Producer
June 1999 - November 1999
Fig Leaf Software Washington, DC
As producer, I managed and coordinated the efforts of the software
development teams. This consisted of monitoring the progress of interactive
solutions for the entire project lifecycle, from proposal to rollout. The
team averaged thirty people; and was divided roughly in half between
software engineers and graphic artists. The projects varied in size and
scope, from implementing real-time on-line transactions for a 4.6 billion-
dollar mutual fund, to creating the kids' site for the United States Mint
www.usmint.gov/kids. One of the larger e-commerce solutions that I managed
was the IPIX Store, www.ipixstore.com. Tasks also varied during the project
life cycle from initial requirements gathering - to documentation - to
quality assurance and testing. I also initiated the role of the producer as
the primary customer liaison. Having a single point for the clients cut
down on miscommunications between graphic artists and programmers, put a
rein on scope creep, and freed the programmers to program, instead of
answer customer questions.
March 1999 - May 1999
Self Employed Bethesda, MD
For three months, I worked on various contracts and projects consisting of
e-commerce and web based application development. The largest project
involved creating an e-commerce solution for a company that was previously

clients, designing their site, writing the ColdFusion backend and
implementing secure Credit Card transactions. I also worked on an ASP
driven Web-Based Training application. www.the-vine.com
