Senior product architect and graphics researcher for multiple digital
imaging products. As the lead programmer and architect for 3 products I
was involved in all aspects of the software development cycle including
interface design, algorithm research and development, software
implementation, speed and memory optimization and testing. I have
extensive experience reading computer graphics and image processing
papers as well as implementing novel techniques. I follow technical
journal and conference publications and regularly attend conferences such
as SIGGRAPH and CVPR. Programming in C++ for Macintosh (Xcode/Codewarrior
with GCC) and Windows (Visual Studio 2008 with the Intel Compiler). Some
of the projects include image restoration, super-resolution, non-
photorealistic rendering and graphic tools.

Computer graphics research in 3D volume and point rendering and computer
vision techniques. Published research includes a SIGGRAPH paper:
Transferring Color To Greyscale Images
Developed a novel approach for adding color to greyscale images and video
using both an automatic and user-assisted algorithm.

A Frequency-Sensitive Hierarchy
Developed a hierarchical method of decomposing 3D volumes and images
using the Gabor wavelet transform to minimize the number of points
required while maintaining the original frequency content of the dataset.
Rendering was accelerated using graphics hardware and

BrainMiner
Developed software for 3D, interactive exploration of functional
relationships in the brain as a collaborative effort between the SUNY
Stony Brook and Brookhaven National Laboratory. Designed and implemented
an interactive, 3D visualization tool for brain imaging (BrainMiner)
using C++ and OpenGL.

Research Programmer, 1998-1999
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA
Involved in developing software tools for analyzing functional magnetic
resonance imaging (fMRI) data for a large research group. Programming
primarily in C/C++ and extensive shell scripting in a UNIX environment.
Assisted in system administration for a collection of 6 high-end HP
workstations (HP-UX), a Linux web server, 6 SGI Octanes (IRIX) and an SGI
ORIGIN 2000.
Research Associate, 1997-1998
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA
Responsible for most aspects of data analysis concerning fMRI for a
neuroimaging lab. Primary responsibilities included maintaining volume
data, applying motion correction algorithms and performing statistical
analysis on brain image data and maintaining all computers for the lab.

Programming and coding assistant for a computer/linguistics research
project. Involved DTD design in SGML (Standard Generalized Markup
Language), evaluating SGML editors, Perl scripting and coding linguistic
data.
